Installing a Domin8r Extreme Winch in an Xrox Bar

- I install a Kings 4wd supacentre domin8r extreme winch in to an outback accessories Xrox bar.
In this video I try to answer my question of if it would work.
I received this winch as a gift so I had done no research as to what would fit and what wouldn't. I just tried it out to see what would happen. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

I just fitted the same winch to my Jeep JK yesterday. I fitted it behind my opar bumper, between the chassis on a mounting plate made from some 180mm channel. Fits and works great. One thing to lookout for is CHECK ALL THE BOLTS! The winch seems to be really good quality, with a really nice textured coating, but every bolt needed tightening.

Hey mate, I have the same setup but when installing mine I end up with the little round shaft streight where my fairlead will be.How did you get around that issue?

Nice install bro! I had the same issue with my arb Sahara bullbar. I can only reach to change to free spool by opening my bonnet.. pretty irritating
It does fit it does rotate, ive got same units on my delica, my control box is under my drivers blinker

@@RyvalCreative even bring the control box into the cab, under dash fit, sneaky shit that n 4 bolts on rotation is fine, ive done heaps a recovery,
Can you send a pic of that. I was thinking of putting the box in the same spot on my Delica. Have to make a bracket or something can you share what you did?
Bolting the winch to the winch cradle or directly to the face of the bullbar? Which is the more safe and strongest? I have a different bullbar but did it to the cradle.
Harrison this bullbar has no cradle so just to the face of the bullbar
keep us posted if its a reliable enough winch. want to get one but been umming and ahhing about the kings one.
Best winch for the price definitely competes with the others if not better best value for money, definitely kings best product they sell. Highly recommend
I don't really use a winch very often I just was given it as a gift from my family. For the money it's definitely the best option for me as it will mostly just sit there and be used on rare occasions. If I was planning on using it every weekend then I definitely would go with a more reputable brand
Where'd you find a 3 hoop xrox? I love these bars, but hate the single hoop design.
What's the weight of this winch. Together with the bull bar bumper
Around 50-60kg combined I’d say. Definitely adds some weight over the front end
How did you put the battery in the wireless remote? Do I have to unscrew it?

Do you rekon you Could fit 2 x 7” spotties and the winch control box all under that center loop , control box in the middle of the 2 lights ?
Nah I tried to fit them all but not quite enough room, the winch control box can mount somewhere else behind the bar though. Just need to find a spot and make a small bracket to hold it
Ryval Creative thanks mate, I’ve got a couple mates with different bars who have mounted the control box inside next to the winch And I was wondering if there’s room to do that on the inside of the xrox
@@alexsallery you can as I used to have it set up that way just doesn’t sit perfectly straight and need to bend the bracket a tiny bit, only just moved the control box behind the grill

I can show that in the next video but it’s basically just a folder bit of steel bolted to the bar and then the number plate is bolted to that
Mate how did u fit the fairlead ?
I just got an offset fairlead and it fit straight on
150mm bolt pattern offset fsirlead? have the same bar and winch and yet to install. does the winch sit a bit high for the standard fair lead
Nathan Norton-Clement yeah bolts would hit the body of the winch with a standard fairlead

question - wouldn't the bolts still hit with the offset fair lead since it's getting bolted in with the winch using the same bolts? unless there are different holes for the fair lead?

Hey mate do you have a problem with the negative touching the bar i did and it sent sparks every where
Hey mate nah have never had that happen luckily. Might have to make a small hole in that spot or cut the negative post down slightly if it has enough thread left over
Hey mate, what fairlead did you use?
In most cases with xrox bar you’ll need to use a offset fair lead and also the thin bar that you can see needs to be removed
As comments have stated the clutch housing can be rotated to put the lever at the top. The link below shows how to do it. It doesn't mention that you up with one less screw in it but it works fine.

you can rotate the gear box on it
Not much use when the bolts don’t line up to put it back together though
@@RyvalCreative i just got one last week and it rotated 90dec and all lined up the one i got is the extreme
Yours must be different to mine or a newer design. Mine will not bolt back together if I rotate it
@@RyvalCreative the problem i have is i need to rotate the motor 90dec or cut some steel out above it to get clearance on the 3 cables as they are shorting out on the car the new model has the 3 cables altogether on top of the motor

Is the winch cradle a seperate piece which I need to order from outback armour? Or is the bar already ready to go to whack the winch in. cheers mate
Hey mate all good! The bar is winch compatible as is so you can just bolt a winch straight up to it

You cut the 8mm of bolt off that is ment to account for the 8mm reinforced plate most bull bars have
Yeah, if you don't cut anything off the bolt wont thread all the way in as it hits the back of the hole it goes into

When did they bring the new Xtreme out? Becuase this video is only 6 months old, but I was under the impression the xtreme version the clutch can rotate

Should of taken the front grill off mate, 4 bolts would of saved you unbolting the winch 6x but solid video! Good stuff mate!

Neil Klyns you can, you’d just need to make or buy a winch cradle and cut your bumper to suit

Pull the control box apart man. There’s a hole on the top of the xrox bar for the remote plug.
I did see that but couldn't really find a good spot to mount the internals of the control box, was easier just to bang it on top
So do you mean Mount the control box on the inside next to the winch with the socket facing up to the hole,?

Hey mate, have 2" Sus & 2" Body and tyres are 285's
I think it was all worth the money, I'm happy with it
@@RyvalCreative 2 inch lift with these bull bars i think would make it non ADR compliant.
@@MegaMr28 They make brackets to accommodate up to a 2" body lift while maintaining ADR compliance.

Clearly says rotatable clutch housing on the box
It doesn’t rotate, the bolts on mine don’t line up
Just wondering if you have a winch cradle in there, I have an xrox bar and wondering if a 12,000lb winch would snap off the screws without cradle
Nah i dont have a cradle, the bar says it can take a winch mounted directly to it
I thought the xrox bar could only hold up to 9500lb
Their website says supports up to 9000lb low mount winch but that would probably be because of the bar thickness and design rather than the physical space limitations
