In most Asian culture divorce is wrong or frowned upon most are willing to stay in unhappy situations just to say that the family stayed whole..its sad but they rather have both parents in the home then have happiness

Looking at the timeline, she probably got pregnant the night they met and it's obvious the husband doesn't even love her or the kids, just getting married for the sake of it... that's the saddest. I really think that she's trying hard to stay with him because of her children, but most parents don't realize how growing up in that kind of environment feels like. When I was younger my parents fought excessively, it honestly scared me to death. I would hide behind the couch until I thought they were done because they used to drag me into their fights. My memories of when I was younger are filled with me sobbing being asked repeatedly if I wanted them to be divorced. I was kid and of course I said yes, because we had happy memories together despite all the fighting, but what hurt me the most was hearing them say it was all my fault. Later on, once I got a bit older, I started telling them that it was okay if they decided to get divorced as long as they were happy, because I couldn't stand watching my mom cry and tell me that the reason she was so miserable was because she was staying with my father for me. Now that I'm older the fights aren't as often and we're so much happier, but that's only because my parents were able to change. I honestly don't think this father is going to change, he really doesn't seem to care about his wife or child, but I'm praying he does because she feels so attached to him. If he doesn't change after this, I hope she finds the strength to leave him for both her sake and her children's. Sorry for the essay, but I could just relate to this so much.

In Korea, dads end up taking care of the kids after a divorce most of the time. Since the wifes truly care about their children and want to be there for them, they don't get a divorce even if the husband is awful.
That's my hypothesis about the situation but I was thinking just like you before knowing how the Korean society works.

This is why women shouldnt give themselves away so easily because you don't really know how your partner is in the beginning. In the comments a lot of people are saying that she should divorce him. You fail to understand that single moms in Korea are most of the time cast out by their own family and by the society also they re derided. And while it s tough all year around it is far more paintful during the holiday season. When you become a social outcast it s difficult to make a living, to make friends, meet a new partener and so on. She needs courage to take such a big decision and a back up plan.

My uncle is like that father too!! He told my aunt to take all her kids with her while we go shopping for her kids,foods and other things and he stays home and sleep all friken day or go drink while my aunt and I r in a store I will be watching her kids for so they won’t distract her and so my aunt won’t be tired watching her three kids so I took care the oldest,the middle and the youngest yes it might be hard running around getting the oldest and middle Child while holding the youngest but I got used to it so it nots bad anymore ❤️☺️

If I was her I would not say it was because of the children, because we already determined that he seems to be already out of there lives now, and I don't think that would change in the near future, you are just prolonging the inevitable, your children would probably wish you have divorced him before and found the courage to stand up in life. They have very solid evidence in this video of what kind of person their father is and IF he never changes, your children would have understood you and would not feel you in wrong with what you have decided on. Your just punishing yourself and your children living with a very violent, indifferent, unsympathetic, lying husband. I know this because I came from that kind of family and I had wished that they would have ended it before it really had damaged all of our lives. In Korea it's the opposite. Kids usually go with their father and sometimes even with the parents of the father before the mother.
The best solution for her would be to leave with the kids but I don't know if she can technically do it.

The reason is that many women work part time or don't work at all so the kids go with the father because he earns money.
When he basically lied from the first meeting, it's the highway to hell. Imagine living with your in laws alone without your baby and husband around. I would have divorced him a long time ago. I will not even leave my children with you. He doesn't want to be a father let's be really honest here. Ugh this reminds me of my family, except my dad was a lot more abusive. He used to hit my mom when I was about 3 or 4, I have no idea how I still remember it. I dealt with it for 15 years and I decided I had enough. I had the guts to actually call the cops and kick him out. I’m just happy my mom doesn’t go through abuse like that anymore.
Ladies that are in this type of relationship, it’s hard to deal with people like them. It’s no use trying to change someone that’s just going to do the same stuff over again. No matter what they say, “I’ll change, I love you, I’ll get a job...etc” it’ll still be the same. It’s going to be hard alone but it’ll help you realize the torture you had to go through. I feel so bad for her. You can tell she wants to divorce him but because of the kids and because of the stigma in Korea about divorce, she probably feels scared to. They probably got married because she got pregnant so they more than likely weren't even in love when they married.
