Jeff is my favorite because of how cute he is, how he can sustain himself and his team very well and mostly because of when you ult the entire team and throw them off the edge
Mantis because strategists are needed so bad. Although I play Mantis and switch to Luna if my shield tanks are falling over. And if we have two healers and one Tank (or none) I'll go Thor or Venom (or Cap if I have divers on the team, he tends to get focused as a solo diver too much). Flexing wins fights. Psylocke or Hela dpending on the comp on the off chance we have two tanks and two healers.
I think Widow is a lot better than you give her credit for. She doesn’t have to be purely long range, and no I’m not saying her melee is any good, in fact she were to ever get a buff I would absolutely suggest her melee gets a buff cause it just sucks. But outside of being a sniper, she’s hardly anything like Widow Maker, in fact I would argue she’s better than Widow Maker in every way: 1.) Mobility, unlike Widow who has a grapple that has a cooldown that’s way too long in my opinion, Black Widow can sprint around the map and with her ability to jump very high traversal around the map is made easy, she reposition or retreat efficiently. 2.) Black Widow doesn’t have some secondary fire on her gun that just sucks!! In stead she has this kick ability. Which for me, has made dispatching anyone who tries to harass me very easy, she doesn’t just kick, afterwards for the next 3-4 seconds you can grapple to your enemy and deal in extra damage which then leaves them with a low enough health bar that a quick shot to the head will put them down with ease. I cannot tell you how many SpiderMans or Wolverines I’ve put down with this combo. There’s too many. 3.) Black Widow doesn’t need to aim down sights just so she can deal out the damage unlike her lesser counterpart. Black Widow is not purely a long range character, because she can deal the same amount of damage with her rifle without aiming down sights, she can be good at any range, provided of course your aim is good. Which for me it is, and I play on console… 4.) Her ultimate offers Crowd Control, something exceedingly useful. What was Widow Maker’s ultimate again? Wall Hacks? Yeah Hanzo can do that too, and doesn’t need to charge up some ultimate to do so… Widow Maker sucks in every way. To conclude, your assessment of Black Widow I find to be very lacking. She’s not purely a long range character, and unlike Widow Maker, her kit is not frustrating or at times ineffective to use. Is she a tank killer? No, but her kit is simple and effective provided your aim is on point. I would argue SpiderMan, Wolverine, and Hawkeye are less fun than her because their skill ceilings are significantly higher than her’s. And by default she’s definitely more fun to play than Vanguards in my opinion. Her placement is unfair, and quite frankly insulting considering you’re basically saying she’s the second worst playable character in the game.
Honestly Peni is my main. Its always so satisfying to see a Spiderman or Iron fist that thinks they’re hot shit to obliviously walk into a Nest of four mines and get blown to kingdom come. Also it’s so fun on convoy Defense to just run up to the enemy spawn and place down four or five mines and get a quad kill.
As a peni main, i play her because she shuts down the dive meta, but she is hurtfull to play, the only thing that gives that tickle of fun is killing someone with the mines out of nowhere or hiting the net on a ulting wanda
Despite how weak she feels now doing well on storm feels really good. Hitting her difficult to hit projectiles which does pass through enemies feels rewarding to hit and using goddess boost to blow up enemies feels fun af. But I can agree that her slow movement and clunky flight sucks. As soon as they buff her the general population will understand how good she really is.
@@bajaox3923 buff her from 250 to 275 Hp and her damage falloff from 20 to 30 Meters. So her Utility is kept her strongest asset, because she cant be killed as easily while beeing able to be played at a safer distance. And this boosted Uptime allows her to deal way better damage in the long run. This doesnt change her fundamentally, but reduce her fragility somewhat.
As someone who comes from like 800+ hours on Zen and Kiri in OW, Mantis is peak enjoyment for me. 275 hp + self heal + AOE sleepdart + an ult that makes you practically invincible while also letting you duel people feels like playing Flankyatta on steroids, and I love it.
I just love how this game can help you become competent enough to learn other classes too instead of only the damage dealers.The new winter celebration event was one of the reasons for me to learn Jeff for example.
Peni for me has is a blast there is such a high skill ceiling once you learn how to counter rushing characters she becomes super fun also having decent self healing is super strong makes having a bad healer on my team less annoying
yeah so as a storm enjoyer, I knew this was coming, despite that she's still some of the most fun I've had in the game as a dps (I usually play support or tank). She has several good things going for her : - Her ult is one of the easiest and strongest in the game. You get invincible for so long while placing it and the tornado usually takes out one or two support easily. It's also a get out of jail. - Flying is great. You're not meant to fly very high up. Just take weird angles and surprise people. - Her boost ability + electric storm can shred through divers, the periodic auto aim aoe lighting strikes are insane. - All her attacks go through enemies which allows you to poke and charge ult faster. - Her aoe buffs can be substantial, but of course they're hard to see when you're playing storm. - While her damage falloff is pretty bad, this also means she can deal great damage from up close. In fact, if you're positioning correctly, you can deal more damage while being more mobile than iron man. Flying into the enemy team while being a commandering presence is extremely fun to me. Like, if you're with your team, she impacts *everyone* and that's very cool. EDIT : you say she has no aoe, but everything she does pierces. The issue with her is trying to play her very high up when her rôle is to be in the middle of her team. Her flight allows her to take tricky covers and positioning, it's defensive, not offensive.
I genuinely enjoy Peni as she is very much anti-dive. You can push with her on attack (something I do often and managed to make work while every dismisses her as a pure defence, hold the zone character). Webbing with alt fire, mining an area around the Dive or even enemies on the other side to help the team light them up. It's really good. I find it particularly fun to watch a Black Panther or Iron Fist try to dive on me or an ally and I just web them, blast them and the ally gets a breather and cook the Diver. It's very possible to be proactive with Peni, you just have to experiment and know her kit enough to make it work. Plus she also has a web zip to let her get some high ground.
I agree with the spider man ranking. Right now he’s my main and I just went 40-13 in ranked with him and it just feels so rewarding when you land that one shot combo. And then on top of that if your friend or a random plays venom, after the uppercut you do the venom team up ability and you can almost everytime one shot a dps or support character every single time. And then just the constant strategic thinking when playing him just keeps his character alive in my opinion. Of course his damage doesn’t compare to iron fists melee damage, but when you have all of those traversal tools to work with it really makes the whole character shine more than just going in with iron fist and taking a bunch of shots while holding down attack button.
I definitely think rocket should be higher but maybe i’m just biased. Sure his deployables and gun aren’t the most fun in the game but his movement abilities are just too fun to use. You can run through little cracks in the wall and give yourself unlimited highground and boost up and out of certain ults or just give yourself a rlly nice vantage point. I can see like non support players thinking he’s boring but he’s so much fun just zipping around healing and being super super hard to kill. You can also combine the wall run with the boost to get a massive vertical boost and it’s rlly fun to use to get away from people. I think if you master his movement he’s one of the MOST fun supports , but again maybe i’m just biased. (i realize i typed out basically what you said word for word before hearing it but ima keep this here anyways cuz there aren’t enough rocket advocates)
They're ALL fun. Each hero I test is fun to play. Even healers. And that's truly a performance ! (I personally don't like Rocket gameplay tho. But I definitely see why he can be fun).
Im a Loki main myself, but Im gonna make a very serious argument here that Punisher is one of, if not the most fun DPS in the entire game, and no one realizes it. The intended way to play the character, sitting around with the AR and spraying at people, is absolutely boring. However, you dont just have an AR; you have a shotgun capable of easily 2-tapping people, and in perfect scenarios onetapping squishies. Combine that with his ziplines, which are absolutely insane for mobility as theyre one of the few movement tools in the game that preserve *all* momentum when using them, meaning that if you jump off of them you can send yourself absolutely flying into the enemy backline with smart placement. And then, as the bonus cherry on top, pop your ult as youre hurtling at them, and suddenly start melting them as you land
That’s what i’m saying , people just forget how fun he can be if you combine his abilities. He has a lot of versatility, he can be played so much differently , at any given scenario . He is not like Hela which is basically just shoot
Personally, I wouldn't put Black Panther above Spiderman. All he got is his dash reset. It has gotten quite stale for me. Compared to that, Spiderman is a lot more complex even though he's weaker. In terms of fun, I would put Black Panther below Winter Soldier at 3rd place.
Groot is not simple. his wall do dmg if the enemy is next to them. So catching someone in the walls to gett full dmg is pretty hard. Honestly saying hulk is a harder tank to play. He has so much mobility and counterplay with his spells compared to groot. If you place the wall wrong you sabotage your team. A groot can make or break a teamcomb with his walls.
It's so satisfying to ult and capture enemies like an ulted Peni, it just shuts them down or damage them enough to practically run away or die immediately after
Realistically when you are using cloak and dagger it will be a 80% 20% split in favor of dagger. If you get dived you can throw the heal bubble down and then switch to cloak and beat them or back them off.
Hear me out, what if scarlet witch gets buffed so that she retains her autoaim, but if you track headshots (aka actual aiming) her damage spikes. That way she can still be the beginner friendly entry level damage, but the skill ceiling spikes so that mechanically skilled players can actually compete with other dps characters,
Spider-Man is hands down my favorite. His movement is insane and I feel like I earn everything I do. Nothings cheap or free for him. Always moving and working.
While I personally don't play much Hawkeye, I do think you underrated him here purely due to the fact that you ignored his deflecting melee. The skill expression in this ability alone makes him so much more fun against like a widow, hela, hawkeye, bucky, etc. Otherwise I agree with a lot of the placements! Seems like you have a pretty good grasp on all of the characters and sense of the game environment!
The problem with iron man is the fun drops significantly once the other team picks spiderman or iron fist. You can't aim at spiderman going mach 10 in the air before he melts you down and you literally can't escape nor outdamage a competent iron fist. The only way to play him is to stay close to & ask your team to keep an eye on you, then hope you have enough time to press his slow Overdrive & RMB when the flankers come. Only then you'll have the chance of outdamaging them quick enough. As much as I like iron man's gameplay, I prefer squirrel girl more if I want to play a splash-damage hero Her traps can easily counter any flanker except for invisible characters, you need to lead & predict your shots after all.
Hulk at 18 is insane imo. There is nothing better then jumping in and clapping the back line. He’s a much more fun venom imo even though you have to put in more effort
Gotta stand up for bottom of the list - I think the fun of Storm is how differently she plays from Iron Man. It’s more about team synergy than main character syndrome a lot of duelist like to be in. But she is very flawed. She’s more like a strategist than a duelist, and honestly they could totally give her healing rain and turn her into a strategist it would fix a LOT. She can clap a lot of divers with lightning boost and the team up with Thor and Cap makes them ridiculous frontliners together. But yeah, she feels a little half baked, AND I STILL STAN!!! ⛈️⛈️⛈️
Storm is really fun to me, matter of personal opinions, of course. but the choice between speed and damage is interesting to me. Plus, with good teamwork and a good setup, you can do a lot of burst and throw off enemies. Of course, the game is new, so I can't tell how fun she'll be down the line. But for now Im really enjoying playing her
I feel attacked by the low placement of Rocket. He's super fun once you realize that you don't need to be anywhere near your team and that tanks just melt right in front of him. You play Rocket by being everywhrre
Making squirrel girls tsunami worth while is hard, you have to find a hallway or tight space that will make it bounce around, it will kill any squishy with two hits
I think everyone's pretty fun; even Storm has her moments, but I can definitely agree with people who say she needs some adjustments or something with a bit of pizazz. My least favorite kinds of characters in these games are just the boring ones designated to sit there and, spam healing or spam damage or whatever, and luckily Rivals doesn't seem to have anyone like that. Everyone has a little something they can do... even a character like Black Widow can hard engage in close range and use her speed and grapple combo to take out people in the fight, which is more than Widowmaker has ever gotten. Peni, though? Naw man, you dun goofed.
My number 1 is Wolverine and my 33 is Luna Snow. Hunting tanks on wolverine is so damn fun since he is anti tank to the bone and on Luna, it feels like you are doing nothing all game but holding left click until you get ult then you run in circles keeping everyone alive. I love playing strategist, just not her
Scarlet is one of my favourite characters, she's very fun- but when I see people play her using only left-click I'm surprised because for me that would remove all the fun in her 😭 Also I really want an ultimate rework for her

Black panther is insane take on genji Netease learnt the most satisfying part of genji is his dash, so they make a kit focuses on that only Its also mindblowing that BP also become an unique hero where he deals AOE in horizontal line with occasional circle AOE damage. Usually most AOE heroes are circle based
I feel like if you actually knew of the proper combos for magik she would be a bit higher. I’m assuming you don’t because you didn’t even mention how she can use the regular V melee attack to string together insane one shot combos with her abilities. For example Left Click, E, Left Click, V can instantly kill any 250 health enemies while only using one ability. Other combos would be Left click, V, right click, Left click, left click Stuff like that And you can do tons of damage and stuff on tanks if you do combos like Left Click, E, Left Click, V, Right click, Left Click, Shift and right click to summon your demon on them and then keep attacking.
tip for moon knight- If the other team is playing namor or loki, moon knight is very strong because he can shoot at the decoys and farm damage on nearby enemies.
I’m both sad and happy black widow is this low the reason is, I had this black widow that literally wouldn’t help us cap point she never even touched the point for a MILISECOND!! Also this was on warrior falls (CPU easy) the reason I’m sad is I like sniping
The punisher is one of my least favorites to play because like....of all the characters to play in this game with cool powers and abilities you just pick "guy with gun". I feel the same about winter soldier to less of an extent but he does get a pass for his cool arm abilities.
Panther is my #1 but I feel like spider man is #0 if and only if you're good at him. He's one of those characters that would get less value than a neymar who doesn't use left or right click if you aren't good at him.
My personal favourite characters to play are probably wolv and hulk, although cap is pretty fun too but he’s a pretty bad character, so I don’t like him THAT much compared to the other two. But i mostly don’t agree with venom being so high on the rankings, he’s incredibly one dimensional and just straight up boring. He has the same gameplan of grapple, slam, shoot, get out. I’m not saying that this gameplay is boring, I’m a hulk main after all and in overwatch I mainly played the hamster. But it’s just the problem that venom doesn’t have any sauce if you know what I mean, he has no cool stuff, no skill expression, same gameplan over and over again

Hawkeye is bit too slow for my taste, with widow I can just aim and click it’s not like Hawkeye where I need to charge up an arrow, even if I don’t have to charge fully it’s still just too slow for me.
I think black panther would be in my bottom 2 or 3 tbh. I only played him once and he felt so underpowered. Feels like you need to move mountains to do half of what any other hero does. Definitely didnt give him a fair chance admittedly. Winter soldier is my #1

Loki can be sooo good if you manage to master him. His ability to not only copy enemies but also your own allies adds numerous outplay opportunities.

I also heard that The Human Torch will have a team up with her and it will allow her to have fiery tornadoes which sounds pretty good imo

I don't think they'll nerf hela, she currently has a 20% global damage bonus for the season so once that's gone it'll be more balanced

If you place the wall wrong you sabotage your team. A groot can make or break a teamcomb with his walls.
It's so satisfying to ult and capture enemies like an ulted Peni, it just shuts them down or damage them enough to practically run away or die immediately after
Realistically when you are using cloak and dagger it will be a 80% 20% split in favor of dagger. If you get dived you can throw the heal bubble down and then switch to cloak and beat them or back them off.
Hear me out, what if scarlet witch gets buffed so that she retains her autoaim, but if you track headshots (aka actual aiming) her damage spikes. That way she can still be the beginner friendly entry level damage, but the skill ceiling spikes so that mechanically skilled players can actually compete with other dps characters,
Spider-Man is hands down my favorite. His movement is insane and I feel like I earn everything I do. Nothings cheap or free for him. Always moving and working.

While I personally don't play much Hawkeye, I do think you underrated him here purely due to the fact that you ignored his deflecting melee. The skill expression in this ability alone makes him so much more fun against like a widow, hela, hawkeye, bucky, etc. Otherwise I agree with a lot of the placements! Seems like you have a pretty good grasp on all of the characters and sense of the game environment!
Rocket being so low when he has the most mobility and within 20m he shreds hes so fun imo

The problem with iron man is the fun drops significantly once the other team picks spiderman or iron fist.
You can't aim at spiderman going mach 10 in the air before he melts you down and you literally can't escape nor outdamage a competent iron fist.
The only way to play him is to stay close to & ask your team to keep an eye on you, then hope you have enough time to press his slow Overdrive & RMB when the flankers come.
Only then you'll have the chance of outdamaging them quick enough.
As much as I like iron man's gameplay, I prefer squirrel girl more if I want to play a splash-damage hero
Her traps can easily counter any flanker except for invisible characters, you need to lead & predict your shots after all.
Hulk at 18 is insane imo. There is nothing better then jumping in and clapping the back line. He’s a much more fun venom imo even though you have to put in more effort
Gotta stand up for bottom of the list - I think the fun of Storm is how differently she plays from Iron Man. It’s more about team synergy than main character syndrome a lot of duelist like to be in. But she is very flawed. She’s more like a strategist than a duelist, and honestly they could totally give her healing rain and turn her into a strategist it would fix a LOT. She can clap a lot of divers with lightning boost and the team up with Thor and Cap makes them ridiculous frontliners together. But yeah, she feels a little half baked, AND I STILL STAN!!! ⛈️⛈️⛈️

Storm is really fun to me, matter of personal opinions, of course. but the choice between speed and damage is interesting to me. Plus, with good teamwork and a good setup, you can do a lot of burst and throw off enemies. Of course, the game is new, so I can't tell how fun she'll be down the line. But for now Im really enjoying playing her
I feel attacked by the low placement of Rocket. He's super fun once you realize that you don't need to be anywhere near your team and that tanks just melt right in front of him. You play Rocket by being everywhrre

Making squirrel girls tsunami worth while is hard, you have to find a hallway or tight space that will make it bounce around, it will kill any squishy with two hits
What people don't get is that Widow is not widowmaker. She is not only the sniper. She can kill you face to face, and is way more fun
I think everyone's pretty fun; even Storm has her moments, but I can definitely agree with people who say she needs some adjustments or something with a bit of pizazz. My least favorite kinds of characters in these games are just the boring ones designated to sit there and, spam healing or spam damage or whatever, and luckily Rivals doesn't seem to have anyone like that. Everyone has a little something they can do... even a character like Black Widow can hard engage in close range and use her speed and grapple combo to take out people in the fight, which is more than Widowmaker has ever gotten.

My number 1 is Wolverine and my 33 is Luna Snow. Hunting tanks on wolverine is so damn fun since he is anti tank to the bone and on Luna, it feels like you are doing nothing all game but holding left click until you get ult then you run in circles keeping everyone alive. I love playing strategist, just not her

Like this list; I agree with most of it. Agree that Cap, although his dash and slam cooldowns are too long, is definitely Top 10 fun to play. Just hope they buff him a tad.

Netease learnt the most satisfying part of genji is his dash, so they make a kit focuses on that only
Its also mindblowing that BP also become an unique hero where he deals AOE in horizontal line with occasional circle AOE damage. Usually most AOE heroes are circle based

I feel like if you actually knew of the proper combos for magik she would be a bit higher. I’m assuming you don’t because you didn’t even mention how she can use the regular V melee attack to string together insane one shot combos with her abilities.
For example Left Click, E, Left Click, V can instantly kill any 250 health enemies while only using one ability.
Other combos would be Left click, V, right click, Left click, left click
Stuff like that
And you can do tons of damage and stuff on tanks if you do combos like Left Click, E, Left Click, V, Right click, Left Click, Shift and right click to summon your demon on them and then keep attacking.
tip for moon knight- If the other team is playing namor or loki, moon knight is very strong because he can shoot at the decoys and farm damage on nearby enemies.

The punisher is one of my least favorites to play because like....of all the characters to play in this game with cool powers and abilities you just pick "guy with gun". I feel the same about winter soldier to less of an extent but he does get a pass for his cool arm abilities.
Panther is my #1 but I feel like spider man is #0 if and only if you're good at him. He's one of those characters that would get less value than a neymar who doesn't use left or right click if you aren't good at him.

My personal favourite characters to play are probably wolv and hulk, although cap is pretty fun too but he’s a pretty bad character, so I don’t like him THAT much compared to the other two. But i mostly don’t agree with venom being so high on the rankings, he’s incredibly one dimensional and just straight up boring. He has the same gameplan of grapple, slam, shoot, get out. I’m not saying that this gameplay is boring, I’m a hulk main after all and in overwatch I mainly played the hamster. But it’s just the problem that venom doesn’t have any sauce if you know what I mean, he has no cool stuff, no skill expression, same gameplan over and over again

I think black panther would be in my bottom 2 or 3 tbh. I only played him once and he felt so underpowered. Feels like you need to move mountains to do half of what any other hero does. Definitely didnt give him a fair chance admittedly. Winter soldier is my #1
