Hey Ben, casually I am from the Basque country, where this type of drink is typical in parties or just at meals. I can't believe you actually uploaded this, it makes me feel so proud of my culture and it's also so random lol
@@ItWasAllPartOfMyPlan kalimotxo is way more popular but it's definitely not for everyone you can still taste the alcohol (my favorite for parties and such)

Yoo Ben, here in Spain, we have a special soda for the Tinto de Varano. It’s called Casera de Limón, and it’s also great by its own! Although we always buy the Tinto de Verano already prepared.
This may be a lil crazy... but in Tx... we like to mix our sweet red with dr pepper.... We usually buy the boxed Vella, called delicious red and mix it with the DP.... Try.. and hope fully you'll like it.
Crazy that you tried coke and red wine for the first time. Been drinking it in germany in my youth. Im from a wine region in germany and in my region it is very common to mix a nice white wine with sparkling water. Theres nothing more refreshing than this. Try it out dude
That kind of drinks are very popular for refreshing in the hot Spanish summers. There ares soome more drinks of this kind we use to drink in summer. - VALGAS: The word Valgas comes from Valdepeñas (a town in the region of La Mancha, the same than the winw tou used in this video) and Gaseosa (sweet clear soda). I think you can gess it is made of red whine and sweet soda (Casera blanca). - REBUJITO: They use to drink this in Seville. It is made with "fino" whine ( a kind of white whine similar to Sherry) and 7-UP or Sprite. - Clara: As easy than half beer and half lemonade (Casera limón). I encourage you to taste them. Are realy good, light, cheap and refreshing.
Youre still drinking 12% alc, mixing it doesn't reduce the alcohol content. The alc percentage isn't relative to how much you drink, for example, that bottle is 12%, doesn't mean you have to drink that whole bottle to consume 12% alc, you can pour 20 shot glasses of wine with that one bottle and each shot is still 12%. Mixing it with coke doesn't change the alcohol percentage in that wine, you're just diluting the taste not the physical properties of the wine.
U won't believe this, I was in Madrid for the first time like 4 weeks ago and tried this for the first time, I LOOOVED it, I'm not a beer drinker and in the south they don't drink cider so this drink really came in clutch
I always like a good red wine and cocktail🍷 Since Korea is a drinking culture, I would suspect that alcoholic berverages would be quite cheap over there.
I'm basque. Kalimotxo is a cheap way of getting drunk when you're young. Usually the wine is the cheapest available, but in my experience the soda must be a quality one (either Coca Cola or Pepsi). The mix tends to be 50% of each in a broad glass, but obviously it depends on your taste. But always it needs to be very cold. There are variants with blueberry liquor added to the wine and soda, but I don't think they are good. Probably too sweet for my taste.

Tinto de Verano is mostly drank in south Spain and Kalimotxo from central to north Spain
On my second makegeolli and just saw this. Feel like I am having happy hour with Ben. Also Tempranillo is my favorite type of wine. This looks good too.
In Croatia we drink red wine with coke all the time.. The name is Bambus!
It's best with less sweet wines..
There is a restaurant in Austin called Kalimotxo that is simply divine. Very good Spanish inspired food. Even have a nice basque cheesecake.

I'm trying this right now!!! I sometimes do wine and ginger ale.. but giving the coca cola and wine a try now. Love when you do these videos.
Yes! More of these videos. I love beverages and would love to see you review different varieties
Tinto de Verrano was my favorite when I was in spain
The lemon and red wine sound delicious!
Yo! I think your on to something with the drink reviews! Expands the content and I love think people will feel it!
agreed!
Absolutely
0:40 red is rojo however, red wine is simply called "tinto" instead of what would be the direct translation of "vino rojo"
I commend the TH-camr who managed to make a nine minute video for a drink with two ingredients.
