  • Interference Pattern in a Slab with Varying Refractive Index | Physics Problem Solution
In this video, I walk you through a fascinating problem involving a transparent rectangular slab with a linearly varying refractive index placed in front of a converging lens. We'll explore how a parallel beam of light behaves when it passes through this slab and what kind of light pattern appears on a screen placed at the focal plane of the lens.
    Key Highlights:
Understanding the effect of a non-uniform refractive index on light rays.
Step-by-step explanation of how the phase difference is introduced and how it leads to the formation of pattern.
A clear and simple breakdown of the optical path difference and how the *converging lens* helps focus the light, producing a beautiful pattern of image on the screen.
This video will help you build intuition for how refractive index gradients influence light behavior and interference patterns. Perfect for JEE aspirants or anyone looking to dive deeper into optics concepts!

Sir one doubt if we have 2 parallel playe conductors one having chage q and 3q such that plate with charge q is to the left of plate of charge 3q
Now we have earthed the plate having charge 3q so for taking out the new charges on the plates you will make the net potential on 3q by new induced charges to be equal to 0 from qd/2ae ( assuming plate distance to be d) but isnt at infinity the potential iself is 0 ?? So what we are doing is it valid ?

Was there a point to all of this?

@@physicsmage OK, I guess. And what are some possible present - or future - practical applications of this revelation?

      Haha, nice question,
