    • @faghihimohammad
      @faghihimohammad 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@CTimmermanThis type of wire is not designed to be heated like this and after one or two uses , it loses its flexibility and becomes brittle. So in the next run some tiny parts of it would break and fall down and that's where it becomes dangerous since the wire may suddenly break and current can find another way(which may pass through the body). The nichrome(nickel chrome) wire with gfci switch would be a much safer choice for such applications.

      @@faghihimohammad THIS IS THE LEAST OF THEIR WORRIES. THEY RUNNING A BURNING HOT WIRE WITH 240v AC RUNNING THROUGH IT.

    • @Speeder84XL
      @Speeder84XL 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@faghihimohammad I was also thinking about why they didn't use stainless steel wire at least - that will hold much better (even if it's still not as good as "real" heating wire
      - NiCr or FeCrAl). The problem isn't that the wire get brittle, but oxidation. After a few uses there will not be much metal left (most of it will just be turned into iron oxide) when it gets this hot and is exposed to air. So it will indeed will burn off quite soon. I don't think it's will be that bad though - they were not sitting that close to it (probably couldn't anyway, because of the heat) - so if it breaks, it it will just fall down on the floor without touching their bodies (wich might happen anyway - remember also that they have only taped the "wire holders" to the wall and when the walls get hot enough, if they run it for longer, the tape might melt or loose it's adhesion).
      Now, if they had hanged the wire in the ceiling or high up on the wall and sit under it, that would have been another thing (but I don't think even these guys would do that - they know the difference between madness and suicidal, hahaha).

      A very reliable death trap ! :D
      The wires get red because they have some resistance (which is lower than human body) so current passes through wires and not body, but when body gets wet its resistance is reduced and if in some scenario body resistance gets lower than that of the wire , with such an unfused setup, they would get electrocuted! In fact, they need GFCI o RCA switch for such application that can pass that amount of current but would pop if the current finds another way to ground except the wire. I am sure they know this , but they don't care :D I hope they be safe and continue to make good content

      Regarding to your question about switches and quality - I have used quite few, same my friends etc. and won't say anything bad about them...
      It's like that with majority of stuff produced in Poland, for example this seems similar to U.S.A - both countries are quite proud of what they produce on their soil and just by that want to meet quality standards and customer satisfaction as a certain brand/producer.
      Also to have certain products avaible on market these kind of appliances have to meet not only Polish quality standards/norms but also at least European ones. ✌😎

    usually the residential homes on USSR like yours in this video has somewhere hidden 110mm drainage pipe in the basement floor pit that leads to nearby ditches or nearby lakes or just underground field drainage systems, so the water can flow away from the basement floor. You had a pit closer to the right wall, could have been that under the rocks there a cast iron pipe was laying and you could have just slit the plastic liner and the water would have drained out by itself with no pump needed
