- In my opinion the BMW M3 Competition xDrive is the Ultimate 1 Car Garage, The Perfect All Rounder, the one car to do everything. Quiet and easy to drive, and a spikey rocket ship when you want it to be.
It's a 4 door luxury race car, and I want one!

Mate you've really excelled yourself there - congratulations on a superb video, put a massive smile on my face. As usual you've made the viewer feel not just as a passenger along for the ride but like the driver. That takes some doing. I never had any doubt the M3 was quick but I've not seen any YT vids capture that sense of speed like this has - happy to have played a small cameo role in making that happen. But of course the biggest round of applause has to goto your mum - best actress award, oscar-winning performance there 🏆. Please use the meme of her screaming "RICHARD!!!" in future videos when you're giving it some! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@RickTheSpud Yeah. Just done my first YT feature on the meg and just for the 10 min of feature, it took us half the day, chatting, setting stuff up. angles, cameras, reshooting stuff. Mega day, but, still that was just for a sit and ride video. So i totally get the time and effort it must take all you YT guys. And if i were the dealer that loaned you that car, it would be your last.
That car is fine mate, M3s are made of strong stuff, and it's a proper auto torque converter box so all the launches don't hurt it either.
And it's not from a dealer, it's a press car from BMW HQ, who had everything I was going to do with the car in a proposal, and it's the only reason they lent me the car. Look round on YT, that same car is everywhere.
Press cars are over serviced and we'll looked after, I'd buy it in a flash.

The idea originally came when I drove my buddy SuperGav's F80 M3 CS last year to Silverstone and then on track and I knew them I had to do a Jekyll and Hyde style video. Then I drove a G80 for a week for the Goodwood Races and the idea developed into what you saw. 👊😎
As long as you get the carbon buckets, I would say go and have a look at some colours in the dealership, but personally, that Skyscraper Grey looks soo good, especially in the sun. Pictures don't do most colours justice anyway.

Fantastic work! One of the funniest automotive videos I've seen on youtube. The G80 is definitely a fantastic all-around package. I just wish the suspension was a bit more compliant in comfort mode but other than that, I think it's at the top of its class. Cheers from California!

On the fence for weeks between the M3 and the C63 , but with the complexity of C63 engine I fear reliability , hence the M3 might be the clear better long term choice . Thanks for putting the video together it really shows the versatility of the car as a daily driver

Have you been to see both? In my opinion Merc build quality and materials are now not in the same league as BMW. BMW feels more like a Rolls Royce, and Merc feels more like a Peugeot.

Two of my favourite reviews from Top Gear's "golden" period were when Clarkson reviewed a humble, everyday car, but ended up doing all sorts of shenanigans like escaping a chasing Corvette through a closed mall in a Ford Fiesta, or attempting to drive a Renault Twingo upside down in a tunnel. Your video has hints of this type of comedy, so well done.
I saw you laugh driving it and I’m exactly the same in my G83 M4 Competition Convertible. I actually burst out laughing with pleasure sometimes when I’m driving it. The power, the grip, the way the steering geometry feels, the sound.
I also noticed on your night drive that you manually put on the heated seats and steering wheel. You can programme all of that. I drive mine with the roof down in all weather except rain so I’ve got it set up to turn those on automatically if it’s below 10 degrees.
There’s so much you can do with the tech on it.
