This album was realased when i was born 1991 thanks to the band who made it and it's Family 😊
every time I listen to this song it moves me...the only way I can listen to it is LOUD, very very LOUD !
Its 2024 and I have to say, oh gosh Phil and Mike and whole band, you guys truly gave us something timeless to take into eternity with us... the lights may be fading but our spirits will never fade and that is truth, thank you for making all this awesome music love you guys always and cheers 🍺 ❣ 🎶
I miss you dad. I’ll never forget you. Thank you for everything. ❤
God bless you .
I'm sorry for ur loss 😢
Coming up on 10 years....July 11.
Think of my father nearly every day.
Remember playing him, Driving the Last Spike, he being a coal miner, could understand the danger.
He could never get my prog music.
Opening of Close to the Edge....in the car...."where are those birds"..
Miss u deddy. You were awesome.
God bless. My dad passed in November of 2012. Miss him the same way. ❤
The 1992 live version must surely rank in the top 5 of all-time Genesis tracks. The wonderful opening chord sequence, Phil's emotive singing, the extraordinary mid section which is up there with Apocalypse in 9/8 and Duke's Travels, Mike's wonderful guitar bridge leading us back into the poignant final lyrical denouement. Sheer genius!
2nd favorite song ever for me
Knowing that 'The Last Domino' (now without the question mark) was the last time that Genesis will perform together, this is the perfect farewell song. Thank you to EVERY member of the extended Genesis family for the outstanding legacy of music that you have left behind; the cherished memories and the much-loved soundtrack to so many people's lives - mine especially. A dedicated and talented collection of tribute bands and Steve's Genesis Revisited team will continue to deliver this outstanding legacy as long as planet Earth continues to spin. You will forever be my favourite band - you have been since 1971. You can relax now. You've earned it. Love ya! 🤗👋
Great comment Kev. I couldn't agree more.
@@geoffnorton9279 Thank you Geoff. I'm looking forward to the delivery of my Foxtrot at 50 DVD from Steve's Genesis Revisited as a Christmas gift. It's going to be a happy Christmas. Hope it is for you too.
Thank you.@@KevStevens-Music-Drums-Art
Lástima , porque en el 2007 hubiesen podido venir a la Argentina ... Con Phil todavía tocando la batería ...
Gracias igual ...

Love you dad forever ❤️
Phil's swansong with the band and a very appropriate one at that. I just love this song.
Yo tambien amo esta cancion ..me trae tantos recuerdos Inolvidables de la vida
Love you dad❤ miss you
This song really does represent the end of an era😢
Big big big Genesis Forever
Drums track is impressive. Collins is really one the best drummer of all times. TR808 really nice
I’m 20 and Genesis is my favorite band, it’s amazing how many beautiful songs they’ve written
i am 67 and have been af an since 1970 and, yes, the have written some great songs
Your’e so cool

Yes it s a good band and this album is the finality of this great band il s sad
I was 67 2 months ago. My name is William Mathers. Love this song.
This could be the last long on the very last concert of the Band in March 2022.
The farewell of the Greatest Band of All Times.
So many things have changed… but one thing always remains… Family…. NEVER EVER Take it for granted…. I speak from experience 🥰🥰💔💔💔💔💔💔
This song touches me a lot, because it is a reflection on the passage of life. The instrumental part and Tony Banks' solo are moments of a work of art!
me too,I,m approaching my twilight years and this sums it up.
He also wrote the lyrics.
Well said
Tony Banks' lyrics on this track make it seem like a sense of nostalgia that the band had from their 1970s where they made completely different music than they did in 1991 (the year of this record). Even the instrumental session itself with its long synthesizer solo (different from the organ and mellotron if this song was from the first half of the 1970s), resembles tracks from the already distant years of 1971, 1972 or 1973. "These are the days of our lives, so remember". It obviously also sounds like Phil's farewell to the band.
Of course Phil had no notion of leving Genesis until a couple of years after this came out...
Listening to this front row at Knebworth 1992 ❤❤❤
I was there as well but a lot further back. First and best concert I have ever been to.
Lyrics to this legendary Genesis track; 💙
Another time it might have been so different
Oh, if only we could do it all again
But now it's just another fading memory
Out of focus, though the out line still remains
Far away, away, fading distant lights
Leaving us all behind, lost in a changing world
And you know that these are the days of our lives, remember
Like the story that we wish was never ending
We know some time we must reach the final page
Still we carry on just pretending
That there'll always be one more day to go
Far away, away, fading distant lights
Leaving us all behind, lost in a changing world
And you know that these are the days of our lives, so remember
Another chance hello, another goodbye
And so many things we'll never see again
Days of lives that seem so unimportant
They seem to matter and to count much later on
Far away, away, fading distant lights
Leaving us all behind, lost in a changing world
And you know that these are the days of our lives, remember
💙🥺🥺🥺

😢Excelente
What a great way to end an album!
My brother passed back in 2008. This song reminds me of him. A real tear jerker for me. Miss you so much Chuck. Wish you were here.
Pink floyd reference, I think?
@@akeyrtainment8507 Long Live The Floyd!
One of the best Genesis songs in the band's history. I would love to hear a version of this song sometime during rehearsals before the 1992 tour. :)
A great farewell song from the trio! Epic!🔥🎶♥️
This song has always hit deep and hard. My college love that I let get away over 37 years ago. What could have been is now just a memory and fading as the years have passed. I'm so sorry Michelle Louise. You'll always have a special place in my heart.
One of their overall best songs. And autobiographical to boot
One of Genesis' most signature tracks, and one that makes the album stand out so much, and it's understood clearly why it's most people's favorite, been waiting for this to be added. An iconic track, with pure emotion, masterpiece of an instrumental, the message and so much more. One of Genesis' best work, and Truly one of a kind Genesis is, and what a Goodbye for Phil, From Genesis, from this track, and overall the album. Real surprised it says "Since I lost you" Instead of Fading Lights, but hopefully that's just a mistake. All the best legends! 💙👑
It's not a mistake my friend
Phil's fantastic vocal performance, fantastic music so much going On in such a beautiful song ,beautiful lyrics Thank you so much Genesis for this beautiful work Brilliant performance 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤

God bless welcome to the new world
God bless you ewan the light of the world is within you
*_[From the "No Admittance" documentary...]_*
Interviewer: What do you think is your favourite lyric on this album?
Tony: The ones I wrote, undoubtedly, yeah! "Fading Lights", which I wrote quite quickly in fact - Nick _[Davis, co-producer]_ calls it one of my 'terminal songs'... As you get older you start looking back sometimes at things that can't be anymore, and you don't know quite what's gonna happen in the future, so you don't know quite - what is the final thing? When you're actually experiencing the last time you ever do something, you don't know it's the last time you ever do it, which is an interesting thought, I thought, so I wrote a song about that, just generally looking back. It's a nostalgic sort of song, it could be corny, but I think I was quite pleased with some of the lines.
Wonderful Song! Masterpiece! This is the uncommon Genesis Band! I love you all! ❤️🎼🎶

Fantastic..👍👍
Can’t believe people actually don’t like this track or this album, it’s amazing and a great farewell from the best band ever IMO
Now this is one of the best genesis songs I’ve ever heard
Chester
The last one song! ♥️🎹🎸🥁
Fading Lights is my favorite track on the entire album and i think that it sits besides Genesis best, probably Tony's best lyrics, i love the chords and the instrumental section. Now i'm waiting for Calling All Stations, that for some reason disapeared from Spotify, i don't use that thing but i went to use it one day and i was sad that it wasn't there, atleast i listened to Congo because that single is there (along with its B-sides).
CAS B sides is amazing, better than the actual album. Beats me
@@akeyrtainment8507 I love some of the B-sides, yet not the ones from Congo single lol
This is the best track off of the album hands down I agree
The title track is also on Spotify under the Platinum Collection
Many things not on spotify, Smallcreeps Day being one of my favourites not on there...
Dad, I find myself playing this song and thinking of you. How many times did we listen to this song? I miss you more than words can say. Thank you for my love of music. It is my life. Love you❤
Great song, great voice..., great emotion. 2023 Genesis and Phil still THE BEST forever. I'm crying. I miss you. From Paris, thank you so much with my Love and Respect for the Eternity. You're THE BEST. Luv.
Well said Patricia this song digs very deep
Des les 1eres notes je pleure. Quelle magnifique chanson interprétée par le groupe le plus génial et la voix de Phil Collins est sublime. Merci à vous d'avoir créer cette chanson. Merci de me faire pleurer. Il est des larmes qui sont belles

What a beautiful song welcome you and the new world
When I left circus maximus in Rome in summer 2007, one of the greatest evenings in my life, half a million people seemed to be very happy and satisfied. They played this studiotrack after the show to guide the audience out of the arena. And allthough it was such a magnificent evening, hearing a distant Phil singing "Another chance hello, another goodbye...And so many things we'll never see again" I suddenly became very sad. Because I knew, I would never see them again. And I still think, Rome 07 was the better way to say goodbye, than London 22
Phenomenal, temporal, transcendental
This is a masterpiece my god
Genesis to me means their 70's music, but there are some good moments later on. This song is one of them.
Thank you Genesis for all your music 🎶 ,sad that you’re not coming back! 😢 I never got a chance to see a concert , nor even get my wish to sing one song with ya ll . This song is your Good bye 👋 .
Will always be a fan of your music and you three !
A masterpiece pure and simple!
Such meaningful lyrics beautifully sang by Phil. Tugs at the heart strings!!
What a amazing song! Why I can always listen to the music off Genesis? Every month, every week, every day, every houre.....what ......every minute! It's never boring.......special the old stuff.
This song has more feeling in it than the city of L.A. The instrumental is beyond all and Mr. Collins, you've always been perfection to me. Oh yeah did I mention the insane build up. Love love love
Thank You All

Those Stillwater Designs subwoofers and Alpine EQ made those bass drums and bass guitar hit hard back in 1991.
This was the Collins swan song that gets me emotionally. I can genuinely understand why some Genesis fans consider this to be the last formal track of the band.
That said, I still consider myself to be an admirer of the Wilson Era as well. Bring on Calling All Stations! 👍🏾
"and you know, that these are the days of our lives, remember" - such a powerful line..
Damn, Tony flexes hard on this one. Some of his best playing.
Amazing song, Tony Banks lyrics with Phil vocals are something else
I LOVE GENESIS!
Genesis best song. Buy this album when it came out..
"Another chance alone another goodbye, and so many things we'll never see again. Days of life that seemed so unimportant , they seem to matter and to count much later on" ..... Miss you mum 💔😔
From genesis to revelation we are truly in the last days welcome to the new world
What a marvellous song ✨
This one takes almost 4 minutes to get started. The chorus sounds like a soap opera, (it even includes the line, "These are the days of our lives") but the instrumental is worth the wait. Note the nod to Ripples in the melody. Along with Duke's Travels, Home/Second Home, and Me & Sarah Jane, this is one of my top 80's Genesis songs.
Me & Sarah Jane.... such an underrated song
Didnt even make it onto the original album
Awesome! Vocals are great!
Masterpiece Genesis Thank you so much ❤❤❤
Lovely song. At times a bit similar to the Beatles' In my life. Very nice instrumental part with change of mood & then return to softer section. Another Genesis classic.
Great Song ✨🍀✨🍀👍
Brilliant sign off.
Genesis ❤❤❤
Best track on the album
One of the best songs Genesis ever made. I've been listening this song for a long time. Still listen it now and again and it never seems to be out of time, and I am sure will continue to be like that through my path. If I am allowed to live a long life, I am certain that I will keep listening to it.
At 8:56, Phil really sounds like Peter Gabriel!!! It’s astonishing, because I’m sure that Phil is not trying to imitate Peter; certainly not at this point! It’s fascinating to think that back in 1970, Phil has been chosen only for his drumming skills. They didn’t know that Phil could sing that good, and most surprisingly that sounded so much like Pete. That’s luck, it just happened that their drummer had a similar voice to their singer, but a higher and thiner voice and less raspy.
a song of lifes journey, beautiful!!
Excellent album, We Can't Dance, the greatest commercial success of Genesis, with very varied themes, and excellent progressive themes like this one with which this great album closes. I also really liked Calling All Stations, the last Genesis album, it didn't have the success and recognition it deserved but there was a Genesis faithful to the style of its beginnings.
The Day we' ve Fall !!!
Thank s a lot Genesis .. Unforgettable ❤️ Love 🥰
Preciosa y emotiva canción. Una de mis favoritas de Genesis incluyendo la Era Gabriel, que ya son palabras mayores.
Great long song by my favorite progressive rock band. 😎
Beautiful song, and sadly the last studio track on an album (featuring Phil) from this amazing band.
Chanson sur la Nostalgie des Jeunes Années et des Premières Amours qui ne sont que des " Lumières qui s’estompent " ( Fading Lights) Cette chanson est également 1 sorte d’Adieu de Phil Collins à Genesis qu’il quittera après le " we can’t dance Tour" PHIL,YOUR DEPARTURE,OUR SADNESS .......😥🥲😉😍👌✌❣🇧🇪
EMICIONAL, PROGRESIVO, ELECTRÓNICO...VISIONARIOS X SIEMPRE
É uma pena que nesta última tournée do Genesis,não tenham vindo ao Brasil......só me resta ouvir seus grandes discos.....
Brazil has the best music fans! It is a shame Genesis never went there like Rush did-and who loved the fans!✌️😊🇧🇷
Amigo from Canada!🇨🇦
I think this is the most significant song Genesis ever presented. Heartfelt and so beautiful. I wasn't really there for you, Mom near the end...please forgive me.
When the time comes, this song shall be the last at my funeral...
Such an overlooked great!
Grandi Perfetti Meravigliosi ❤️❤️❤️
MUCH LOVE
One of my all time favourite songs, not just Genesis but in general. The CD We Can't Dance has several more amazing songs.
This just sits so well with me. So many of Genesis songs and tracks do but this…. This is a summary of certainly my own recent history if not much much longer… life long Genesis fan… is there anything Tony Mike and Phil couldn’t write about (preceding line up of Peter and Steve etc also…) ? This hits musical chords yes but also some real chords of life as well…
This and Afterglow I found i listened to with a different ear post a very significant bereavement in my own life…
These dear souls, musical treasures of, and called Genesis seemed to and probably still can too, write with such ease…profound music and lyrics that can stir any given emotion or feel…
Not too fond of most of their later output but this is an exception--what a way to end an album! I have to remember to turn my Sound System down when the middle section kicks in because of moaning neighours!
благодарю за исполнение красивой песни.
Beautiful and sometimes overlooked and forgotten Genesis gem. A 10 minute masterpiece
The keyboards are sublime and so are Phil's vocals
...sail away, away....ripples never come back....

The Last Great Genesis Track, by way of The Blue Nile.
Such an amazing closer to the final album of the Collins era. I do hope we get “Calling All Stations” next week despite the album being slaughtered by both the Gabriel and Collins era fans despite Ray Wilson sounding much akin to the former vocalist (Gabriel) in most of the songs.
Never thought Ray was the best fit when he joined but have since become a big fan of his own stuff. Talented song-writer and singer.
