I admit - I spent some time going all over to find the scions after they scattered. I still haven't found some of the 'lesser' scions, but it's cool to go somewhere and suddenly see a familiar face. I actually hope that they move around as the patches continue ahead of 7.0.

I found a few of them in one of my previous videos, but some of them are off the grid at the moment, such as Hoary Boulder.

I still feel sad that the scions of the seventh dawn had to disband but I know they might return in future patches

      Oh for sure!
For now I think the next patch is all us, a new adventure ahead.
When something comes up that requires the Scions attention, the full raid will be there :)

They literally said we see them again in the future in the last cutscene so we will see when :)

I mean there story arcs are not done yet. Alphi and Ali aren't even adults now.

There's also a large element, sort of like you mentioned, of encouraging the people of Etheyris to take up responsibilities for themselves. From Stormblood onwards we were starting to become war leaders and hero-worshipped and that's not healthy for either party in the long term. From real world history it's a fairly common theme that wartime leaders make poor peacetime leaders and it's better for heroes and generals to stand aside to let the people govern themselves under their own governments and not via military style decision making.

Felt pretty natural tbh, bad things happen to organizations that outlive their purposes. Something HW showed us was that no matter how intelligent/wizened/friendly the leaders of the City-States are, there are rules they must abide by in order to function, and as it is we had already seen what happens when the Scions put themselves inbetween them-when there are no existential crises at hand. Aside from the goals of which the organization was built upon are very much completed, the Scions enjoyed a lot of individuality/freedom when working for the good of the realm-as a neutral fraction. It is hard to predict what some people might think of the scions, now that the Grand Company of Eoreza exists, since it very much shares the responsibilities of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. In the perspective of the city-states, the Grand Company of Eoreza is a bigger version of the Scions, that operates directly under their command. Even if they have no ulterior motives, it is very easy to imagine which organization they would prefer. The scions enjoyed a lot of uninterrupted freedom and individuality when operating in Eoreza(with a nod from the City-States, but no official capacity), if they continued to do so now that the GC of E exists, in the long term there might be consequences.

An amazing point of view Ho Hau Li!
The Grand Company of Eorzea has indeed taken the mantle of this responsibility and will carry the torch forward.
My personal guess is the members of the scions will be interacting with us on our adventures or we may go with them on their own ones.
I doubt we will see much change in leadership in the game stories timeline but I would agree with you in the long run, the presence of the scions would be harder to ignore and tolerate for that matter.

Honestly, having them "disband" is probably the best way to wrap up their story as a whole anyway. Let them rest for a bit and bring in new characters to continue the new adventures we're supposed to be having from this point onward. I won't mind them coming back as cameos or a side story of some kind, but I feel like making them a focal point again would be a disservice to how their story ended.

I'm sure we'll still have good times with the ol gang, just not as scions but as friends.
