The simple modern is the best! I have the cream leopard and love it! The lid has 1/4 turn technology so you can put the straw in 4 different positions. 😀

Definitely sticking with simply modern, affordability, all companents dishwasher safe, sleek and cute, leak resistant but most importantly LEAD free (Stanley tests positive for lead).

I prefer Simple Modern. I have three now. They have so many pretty colors. One thing that you didn’t mention is the weight of the tumbler. The Simple Modern is lighter than the Stanley. Idk about the other brands. Very good review!

I bought a Simple Modern after hearing my boss's struggles with her Stanley and it's really a great tumbler! I did get some stainless steel straws as well, and debating if I'm going to get an Owala to supplement/rotate with my SM since I typically leave my tumbler at work unless I'm planning travel or a long time out of office

I started out with GreensSteel, $40 for a 40 ounce. They have specials quite often, though. They come with no handle, but you can purchase a handle that slips onto the tumbler. The issue I have with the handle is it bumps into my vehicle cup holder. I recently purchased a Stanley v. 2 H2.0. The handle does not interfere with the cup holder. The Stanley has a narrower base as well as being a taller, more slender profile. I have a Reduced tumbler, too. The base of that is wide profile like GreensSteel. All in all, I think if your biggest concern is spilling you should purchase with that in mind as priorities. Otherwise, go for what appeals to you.
I will say also that GreensSteel has kept my water cold even with Arizona heat, while in my car all day and overnight. They also include two stainless steel straws (one straight, one bent) and brushes for cleaning the straws. Many colors. Sold online only.

The simple modern is my favorite. I love the look and the way you can easily have the straw point in any direction because of the 1/4 turn lid. I think completely upside down is not the best way to test for spills. That’s not usually how your cup falls over and it creates a vacuum after a bit. On its side is a much better spill test. Also, having the straw in is a more life-like test. How often are you carrying it around without the straw in? Thanks for the comparison test. I was thinking of getting an owalla but I didn’t realize it was hand wash only. My kids are likely to accidentally put it in the dishwasher. That’s too much money to ruin because it got washed incorrectly.

I bought the jumbo (maybe 60oz) Reduce at a thrift store for $5.00! It has the same lid as the 40oz one you have there. I use it every day and have really love it, but I am now looking for one that fits in my car drink holder.
The only thing I noticed with the Reduce, is that the little grey rubber stopper that seals the chug hole, got some mold spots on it that not even bleach would remove. I only use it for water with Zip Fizz, or Celsius in it. 😊

What’s nuts is that Stanley makes the leak proof feature basically only if it’s fully flipped over. On its side it leaks like a sieve. With the straw it’s even worse.

I’m obsessed with hydrapeak as a brand. The voyager isn’t my favorite style but it keeps my water cold, is easy to drink from and helps me stay hydrated. I had originally gotten mine full price at tjmaxx amd lost it at a Trader Joe’s. I decided not to get another one because I had other bottles I really liked (the 32oz hydrapeak is my favorite). I found a damaged voyager on sale for $6 and snapped it up. I was quickly reminded why I liked it so much. Very satisfied with it

Simple Modern'a trek is the best! I got rid of my Hydrapeak voyagers for them. SM ice lasts way longer. Hydrapeak's open handle gets stuck on things, gets tangled up when I put it in a bag. The SM is more slim and fits right in my bag and I don't ever have any leaks, even when hiking

These all hold equally cold and hot regardless of the brand. Clearly the Ozark Trail and the Stanley H2O quencher aremade in the same factory in China. So no real difference. I did notknow Walmart did the same cup now as well. I may order some in dark blue although I would prefer them in unpainted stainless. The handles seem identical on both being screwed on plastic handles on some stainless supports which are welded to the cup. Biggest negative is the on both the drinking hole can be just on one position at 90 degreesto the handle. I need the drinking jole at the 180 degree position like on an water pitcher. This issue is caused by the screw on lid. The threads allow just for one position which is an huge negative.

Eh, I don't like how you did the ice test. Nobody just puts ice into these things in real life. Why didn't you just stick a thermal probe into an equal amount of ice water in each cup? That would have been a much better comparison methodology. See Project Farm for how to do this test right.
