Titus (Jackson) didn’t want to play as a black cop on a show because of what was happening in the world (the death of George Floyd etc..) he told Alexi and had no choice but to kill Jackson of the show, besides Titus has a music career so he’s going to continue pursing the music career

This was a very proud time for Nolan, after everything he went through, I’m glad he made p2. It’s sad that Captain Anderson and Jackson weren’t here to see it. Jackson was his friend and rookie buddy along with Lucy and he would’ve been happy for him since he earned it. Captain Anderson stood up, vouched for and believed in him from time to time as well as proving that he belongs with the LAPD and was a type of mentor to him…she would definitely be proud of him.
I really hope Nolan can become a Detective. That the reprimand won't destroy his career. I want this show to go on for years with us seeing Nolan and Lucy rise every season until they are the highest ranks.

@@o5-18 The way I interpreted it was that Grey said with the reprimand, it would be almost impossible for any higher up to give him a shot. So, there could be someone like Anderson who believes in him based off what he's done and might think Nolan's reprimand was out of line and give him a chance.
Seeing her hug Nolan was the best part of that scene. Also seeing how proud Tim looked when hearing Nolan was no longer a rookie. Tim might be a hard ass but he can see how good of a cop Nolan is and I look forward to them sharing more 1 on 1 moments as Nolan works towards becoming a TO
Nolan as an FTO is great...he'll eventually become a Detective and then a Sergeant..his role and support of Probationary Employees is incredible as he challenges them but does not make it impossible for them to realize a career with proper direction and training.

I think it’s sad that Andersen and Jackson didn’t see Nolan graduate from being a rookie or eventually getting promoted to Officer 3 and becoming a TO. But I’m sure watching over from heaven they are both proud of him Andersen as his superior who believed in him in his early days and Jackson as one of his best friends since police academy

Nolan has been through HELL as a rookie. Right there @ Capt. While he wasn't one himself, he effectively did the same job as a TV detective for several seasons. Outside of a personality change, it would effectively be the same stuff we have already seen him do.

He was going to leave at the end of season 2, but they promised him they'd handle police reform with his character at the centre in season 3. That's why Jackson's death seems so out of left field and rushed in terms of plot and filming, & why we don't see his face in the footage or see a body. The actor kind of left them high and dry. He could've told them he was planning on leaving at the end of season 3 and they could've figured out a smoother exit, but he didn't, & this is the best they could manage on short notice.

A lot of people call the whole Guatemala ordeal a total unrealistic plot. But I think this is not only the great storyline, arc for next years with arch-enemy. People say that this is not how police works, yeah, and they weren't the police here. They were highly trained individuals doing a covert operation overseas, illegal in its core, risking their lives for one of their friend, collegue.
The difference is that there was another way before Nolan did what he did and he didn't follow the proper protocolfor reporting a bad cop when there would've been help. In this situation no one in the proper chain of command was going to help them so they had to do this if they wanted her back.
Sure this may just be a tv show, but it is easy to overlook all the sacrifices a person makes just to make it as a cop in a crazy ass town like L.A. The odds are stacked against you from the beginning.

Angela’s dress was found in a trap, so that had to mean Jackson’s clothes were also found at some time, but it was never declared he was dead. Blood DNA was only able to locate his supposed killer, but never clarified where Jackson’s real location is.

The actor who played him left the show pretty suddenly and the death he got was the best they could do with not much notice and with respect to the character.
When actors leave a show on not the best of terms or are not expected to ever return they are usually killed off so there is no returning (Dallas being an exception). If they want to leave the door open the character will leave for another state/country. The exception to the killed is if they don't find body especially a bad guy.

I'm still hoping Jackson is alive not dead. If he is dead I hope the actor who played Jackson left the show in his terms not the writers and directors. I am just beyond shocked that he is dead because the finale last season didn't show anything about Jackson accept that Angela was kidnapped

Jackson's dead and gone. Titus Makin started growing uncomfortable with playing a cop around the end of season 2(George Floyd and all) and he wanted to leave. the writers convinced him to stay, adding the Stanton plotline and community center to appease him. that wasn't enough and he quit during the hiatus between filming seasons 3 and 4(ostensibly to focus on his "music career"), leaving everyone high and dry and the writers backed into a corner. so yeah, he left on his own terms, but in a douchebag "I'm taking my ball and going home" sort of way

why did jackson killed off the show why
The actor who played him left the show pretty suddenly and the death he got was the best they could do with not much notice and with respect to the character.

When actors leave a show on not the best of terms or are not expected to ever return they are usually killed off so there is no returning (Dallas being an exception). If they want to leave the door open the character will leave for another state/country. The exception to the killed is if they don't find body especially a bad guy.
He's the weakest actor on there so the show will be fine.
