  • We cover how and why you should use dormant spray to prevent unwanted pests and diseases. It's a simple thing to do that can save you so much time.
When trees and shrubs lose their leaves in winter, it provides a
significant head start in the battle against insects and disease that show up
during the growing season. Without the cover of leaves, pests including mites, aphids, insect eggs and scale are exposed and easy to destroy. Potential diseases are reduced or prevented by spraying in winter, including fire blight, shot hole, peach leaf curl and powdery mildew. Properly timed dormant spraying will prevent and kill more insects and diseases than most other sprays during the year.

That’s great for winter. What do I use spring to fall?

These are preventative. There are not preventative sprays for spring to fall. It’s about keeping healthy soil and watering practices. If you see a pest, you can water spray or hand pick off. Otherwise bring in a photo of the pest and there are certain treatments like Neem oil etc.

Can you please us how to mix? Thank you.
The writing on the label is way to small for me to see.
    Much appreciated

What does the inside of the horticultural oil look like? What I got on Amazon smells so strong like ammonia like incredibly strong, it is very thick and white, is that normal?

It shouldn't smell like ammonia from what we remember. We like Bonide and Monterey products. It is worth the spend to get good quality.
