Great video as usual. I enjoyed this series. I may never get around to playing any of these but I deeply appreciate them. You were taking about hub world and man I'm a sucker for a well developed hub.
What a journey. Takes quite an investment to go through all the games for the pay off in the end. Quite like the refreshing mix of Cyberpunk and medieval themes and the execution, given the small budget, is quite impressive. Beautiful but flawed game with a soul, that makes it more dear had it been flawless.
I've got to say back to back it was pretty exhausting but also quite amazing when I got to the end. The pay off is quite spectacular. And yes I'll take a flawed passion project over a soulless open world any day.
You got a lot of info from Dreamfall that I don't recall ever existing. Dreamfall had many giant holes in the story. Did they backtrack and fix that game?
@@Kindlesmith70 unfortunately I only played it all the way through for the first time on steam a few years ago. So I couldn't tell you too much about changes from the original release sorry.
@@arkham666 I've never played Dreamfall Chapters, so all the content on that is new to me. I had so many questions having played Dreamfall twice through. It's been a while since I played it. I've also played the Longest Journey and that game I recall being more complete, with the except of that old lady telling the story - whoi think was Arpil in the future, even though the second game effectively killed her off... Head scratcher.
I think that's very true. I don't think the adventure game has really found itself again since it lost the point and click part of it. I still love the stories in a lot of modern adventure games but it does feel like a movie where I occasionally move characters around.

First game: Amazing. Second game: Emotional. Third game: Depressing, but not in a bad way.

@@Kindlesmith70 yeah it all basically makes sense by the end of chapters but I wonder if some drastic rewrites were done between the games.
Something was lost in this one, there is a good idea underneath too many modern sensibilities.
