Love watching these videos! I use to build pools from my early 20's to early 30's, brings back a lot of memories, I've seen some crazy stuff when we did rebuilds, but I must say I have never seen wood blocks behind a liner for a ladder 😂
It's a leaf catcher uses a Venturi return to suck the leaves thru the main drain that little line with the blue ball valve at the pump controls the leaf catcher water
@@briangriffin9886 yeah I know what you’re talking about. Actually, the homeowner is going to do that. My suggestion was to replace it, but he said if he can get a couple more years out of an epoxy coating, he’s just gonna do it.
I enjoy watching experienced tradesmen walking around with a handful of tools and one shoved in every pocket ending up without the right tool to takeoff, put on , stuff they hv done a thousand times ? Why ? Well being one myself who wears a tool belt ( finish carpenter) I heard it all ? I even see guys dragging around heavy stuff in crocs ? ( by the way two of my toes don’t work because I rolled something really heavy over them in a pair of sandals?). Just wear a tool belt and take it off when done? I see guys do it all to time ! Yes even pool guys who R demo , setting forms , laying out ? They really do work?
@@jonport_ I know they can be cumbersome or floppy ? But I hate retracing my steps for “tools”! Anyway brother I enjoy your videos learning as much as I can cause? I want a POOL! My wife said “no way” ! So now that she is gone ; I am working towards it !
@@MichaelMulvey-hp3he yes that will work! Anything to avoid wearing a “TOOL BELT” ? What’s even better is the one that fits in the bucket ? Looks very professional showing up at the door of a customer or the customer watching you carry around the bucket with 3000 tools in it all rusted and the $15 Lowes hammer and Erwin Vice grips ? (I know I blew thru a pair of those in 6 months ! Then a real tradesman showed me a pair of Knipex 250’s and 5 yrs later they are solid! But yeah the bucket trick is great and especially if you have work wear w/company name on it ? Just paint your company name on the bucket to match? LOOK GOOD FEEL GOOD ; WORK LIKE A BEAST!
Why was it draining was it because when they winterize the pool they removed all the plugs and it would drain through the filter and the pump because if that’s the case, you’d really just need to make sure you airlock the main drain and then plug up the skimmers with gizmos and the return with rubber plugs and you could do a check valve somewhere as well if needed
@@jonport_ that’s makes sense I mean shoot if your gonna make money why not. It seems like who ever was servicing that pool was doing an awful job when they closed it cracks everywhere. I’ve been doing pool for 14 years and we see that all the time. Bc other companies want to go fast but mistakes happen just as fast
Wow previous pool installer installed the pool pump in wrong place too low below the pool it should be installed closer and same level as the pool deck as the reason why the pump works too hard when it's below the pool deck level and as for the pool cover it's poorly designed kind

Meant to say in floor cleaning system looks like a paramount mod valve or PCC 2000
Can you use any sorta plastic weld for the cracked areas, like marine grade
@@briangriffin9886 are you asking? Talking about the skimmers?
@@jonport_ yes sir
@@jonport_ Yes i have seen some videos on boats that have cracks and they use this marine grade expoxy or something to repair them

2:54 it looks like there aren’t any check Valves in the system which is a big no no when you have a system below the water level
