I mainly play synths and no percussive instruments (yet). I was wondering what size is the head on the one you use because it sounds higher in pitch than the regular sized ones. Could you tell me? I push the analog mixer very hard … it naturally suppress without distorting when the kick hits. Being all analogue it can be very beneficial. When I mix the result for the video I do further processing

Here’s the setup ( extremely simple): setup: Sure SM58 Mic, a kid toy (with cable attached to the internal mic, and Juno 106 all go on a 4 channel mixer. From there to a delay pedal that also has a added simple basic 1 button/1 track looping function (the TC-electronics FlashbackX4 FIRST MODEL). From there to speaker. All powered by an inverter and car battery With the mic I can record all the percs and Didjeridoo + beatboxing and voice fx/noise

No midi ! The kick is from my Juno 106 (it’s a synthesized kick I’ve programmed that sounds very similar to the 909 one. It’s pure analog kick. The hat is from that 5 euro kid toy that I’ve attached a audio cable to the small speaker. So distorted that cut through the mix just like the 909 hat … experience teach you all of that

How do you get that 909 kick and hi-hat without connecting midi?
No midi ! The kick is from my Juno 106 (it’s a synthesized kick I’ve programmed that sounds very similar to the 909 one. It’s pure analog kick. The hat is from that 5 euro kid toy that I’ve attached a audio cable to the small speaker. So distorted that cut through the mix just like the 909 hat … experience teach you all of that
