@@ripshark456 Two strokes are a lot cheaper to rebuild, but they cost a lot more in the maintenance xD 4stroke is hard to blowup, 2 stroke if you don't take care of it after every ride you'll blow up quickly.. 4strokes just need some oil drains and some cooling..(basically) it can run for hours and hours before your piston blows up. (my piston has actually 70hrs & i have juuust a little less compression than if it was brand new., try to do 70hrs with a 2stroke you'll seize before the 50hrs xD)
@@ripshark456 I love how people always assume it costs like a grand to rebuild a bike. A weisco top end kit costs 400 dollars. Try learning how to work on your own stuff and maybe it'll be cheaper.
had 8 bikes and this is the only one that blew 4 other guys in town with the same bike also blew the bottom end because of faulty crank seals in 2012 and 2 of thos guys are pro
the guy that recorded this is probably one of those blokes whos bike blows up at 150 hours on the stock piston and oil and they just cannot figure out why
K these comments r pissing me off lol it’s a race bike it’s meant to be held ur supposed to rebuild them there meant to be out on a track and torn down every race those bikes are meant to be on there rev limiter that’s where there power is if u don’t want it to blow up buy a trail bike
over reved? really...hmm...well that's a new one, didn't know you could blow a new motor by over reving. Especially when the rider barely was reving at all...noob lol On a better note, awesome place to ride, have you found out what the deal is yet?
@ColtonB96 yes there less complicated and cheaper but they blow to much so there fore either bike you get you will be spending the same amount of money on
Yeah you have a point, 2 strokes do blow up more I'm not going to lie on that but I just personally would rather rebuild mine more frequently for cheaper than spending a ton once the 4 stroke goes. But that's just me
im thinking about getting a 2011 kx250f all my friends say get a honda iv had a 08 kawi 450 before did the same thing to me had an 05 honda 450 never had a problem with it should i learn from my past?
Get a kawi, i got a 05 kx250f that i race, stock motor, its a beast, maintence is what you gotta do, if you dont take care of your bike NO matter what brand it is, it will run like shit and blow up, Kawasaki the way to go!,
Sand is an engine killer.. No grip so you're constantly at the rev limiter, and the thin powder of sand that goes through your air filter and directly into your cyclinder. Avoid the sand if you can guys, and maintain your bikes a lot after riding in sand...
i just wanted to let you guys know , its not my fault it blew up, it blew a conectiong rod dew too a faulty seal and yes the bike has bin broken in properly and for all the haters that are commenting you can all F*** off because you probly cant ride worth shit
How long an engine last correlates to how fast the bikes avg RPM is. Both 250 two strokes and 450 four strokes spin at around 8500 RPM so last last pretty much the same amount of time. That is also why a 450 four stroke has almost twice the displacement as a 250 two stroke if both had the same displacement but the manufacturer wanted to get the same amount of horsepower out of both bikes they would have to spin the 450 four stroke so fast it wouldn't last very long at all.
I told my friend that. And his crf450r now sounds like the equivalent to a 70 year old smoker that has smoked 3 packs a day for all of those years. It backfires like a bitch on accel and decel no matter what he does. Could this be the valves?
Talos The King That is exactly what I said, if I go down in practice or at a race and I am not hurt, if I lets my bike sit for longer than like 5 seconds, I get yelled at in the pits. Plus, it is hard to start a carburated bike when you let it sit on its side.
That is why I would never ride my bike in sand. considering the way he just tossed his helmet it shows he probably doesnt care for, or maintain his riding equipment the way he should. Probably also safe to assume he is either rich, or spoiled as shit.
they dont cost that much more and anyway a 2 stroke will blow up at least 15 times befor a 4 stroke will once so 4 stroke = not losing every last cent you have
I wanna rev. And be in the air. And land without damage. But not for like, the cost of the bike and fluids, AND oh, by the way, $1500.00 in parts/labor for about 100 hours of fun...damn.
Yes, everyone knows that 14,000 rpm (modern 250f redline) is less than 11,500 rpm (250 two stroke max rpms. Even a 125 two stroke doesn't rev as high as a 250f. (excluding Suzuki RM125)
***** If "more like 12,000 to 13,000" is referring to 250 two strokes, not a chance son, that is 125 two stroke territory. On a 250 two stroke a good rider would rarely pass 9,000 rpm because the most power is made between 7,500 and 9,000 rpm. If you are referring to 250 four strokes, the rev limiters are generally placed around 14,000 rpm, although they could most definitely rev past that without a limiter, it would end with a overheated engine, and a thinner wallet.
The online stats that you are finding show where the maximum power output is at, which is usually around 12,000-13,000 , but the maximum rpms (with the rev limiter of course) is 14,000 rpms for all new 250Fs and I'm guessing the older ones also.
Jordan Colr lol no you idiot he would of overheated the bike, especially on the soft sand bike would of been Trying to hard melted piston/ overheated cause he’s not really getting any air flow through his radiators, so reality the only thing cooling this engine was coolant and In this terrain he would of needed more than just a radiator to keep it cool
2 races then a rebuild might be a option plus puting fresh oil in aswel if you run a tunned modified engine that will ownly last 2 hrs of use on track pro riders rebuild every race but idiots saying let me have it because you dont no how to ride is dumb these bikes are not built for gentle riding they are built to win races even if you need to crank out more power but reliability drops meaning pushing your engine to near breaking point just to get the power you need
He is surely one of those rich kids that rides with his friend's that just whant to have a dirtbike but dont know how to juse one. Like look people i got a dirtbike just for showing off and be like look what i can and then breaks it and say mom and dad should buy a new one for him. And his friend's will say wow dude nice
people are so stupid "because it was a 4 stroke it blew up" or " that's why I ride two strokes" they all blow up.
two strokes are alot cheaper to rebuild when they blow up when a fourstroke blows up your fucked
ripshark456 that's not the point im getting at, every bike will blow up people are just saying because its a 4t it blew up
kx4life117 oh okay
just saying lol

BRUH YOU AIN'T BARCIA CHILL WITH THE LIMITER
There's nothing wrong with Kawi, they're great bikes. I've ridden them all my life! But I will admit honda and yamaha are great too
i wonder how many bikes hes blown up riding like that... probably quite a few
had 8 bikes and this is the only one that blew 4 other guys in town with the same bike also blew the bottom end because of faulty crank seals in 2012 and 2 of thos guys are pro

xDD nice one
A thin piece of cardboard paper between the Gopro and the mount fixes that rattling noise, works every time for me!
Just because you can rev the piss out of a 250f, Doesn't mean you should...
then why buy one?
loving the guy who took his time to roost the helmet and bike;D
Man blown engines are the biggest bummer in the world lol. Nice riding though looked like a ton of fun until it blew.
It sounded like it was about to blow the whole time
It's also the sand... Riding in sand is very hard on your bike!!!
My 07 blew the other day. I think crank bearings went. It's locked up tight tho.. Can't wait for this bill

i have a 2012 kx250f and it revs like no tomorrow he was probz giving it like 3/4
That's why you don't stay on the limiter mid air...
@ColtonB96 yes there less complicated and cheaper but they blow to much so there fore either bike you get you will be spending the same amount of money on
I did a full engine rebuild on my 2 stroke for only $700 where a 4 stroke would costs thousands! 2 stroke for life! Simpler = Better
If you would have had white pro taper grips your powerband might have survived
Yeah you have a point, 2 strokes do blow up more I'm not going to lie on that but I just personally would rather rebuild mine more frequently for cheaper than spending a ton once the 4 stroke goes. But that's just me
Efi bikes don't spill, check valve in the fuel pump means no need for a fuel shutoff.
@ColtonB96 it kinda evens things out but then again it's much easier to rebuild a 2 stroke and it is sorta worth it for the power they put out
im thinking about getting a 2011 kx250f all my friends say get a honda iv had a 08 kawi 450 before did the same thing to me had an 05 honda 450 never had a problem with it should i learn from my past?

dont think it liked the limiter in the air ???
did you break the motor in properly?
All modern bikes have a rev limiter that kicks in before they float the valves.
Shift?
the point of a rev limiter is to stop valve float
it's a race bike, race bikes blow up, this shit happens, doesnt mean your doing something wrong when it does.
Sand is an engine killer..
No grip so you're constantly at the rev limiter, and the thin powder of sand that goes through your air filter and directly into your cyclinder.
Avoid the sand if you can guys, and maintain your bikes a lot after riding in sand...
bro. I felt that fall i promise u
That’s why I stoped riding dunes without paddles
i just wanted to let you guys know , its not my fault it blew up, it blew a conectiong rod dew too a faulty seal and yes the bike has bin broken in properly and for all the haters that are commenting you can all F*** off because you probly cant ride worth shit
And now... You buy a 2 stroke(:
Cameron Byfield 2 stroke really...they blow up more often whats your point.
you can rebuild two 2 strokes for the price of one rebuilt 4 stroke
lithium25693 but 4 strokes last longer too
How long an engine last correlates to how fast the bikes avg RPM is. Both 250 two strokes and 450 four strokes spin at around 8500 RPM so last last pretty much the same amount of time. you can blow a motor by over reving...its called floating the valves, then they go boom
I told my friend that. And his crf450r now sounds like the equivalent to a 70 year old smoker that has smoked 3 packs a day for all of those years. It backfires like a bitch on accel and decel no matter what he does. Could this be the valves?
2 strokes are a lot tougher, but i noticed you were reving in a little high before shifting gears
is it for sale
bad luck man hope u got it fixed
Yeah this doesn't happen for me and hasn't yet but my front break lever did break well I was in the air scared the hell out of me
your bike sounded like it was ready to blow the entire ride..
thats a warm 35 degree day....
problably in celcius
TheXcaliber223 *celsius
Didn't even think of that haha
was this when you was breaking it in ? and screw the haters LOL
it had 40 hours on it at the time oil changed every ride
my 6 year old could hit the ground harder than that and still pick up the bike. ch'mon now
Me and the Honda dude have the same Goggles
pick your fucking bike up man
Talos The King That is exactly what I said, if I go down in practice or at a race and I am not hurt, if I lets my bike sit for longer than like 5 seconds, I get yelled at in the pits. Plus, it is hard to start a carburated bike when you let it sit on its side.
+Chase Hewett whats the diffrens when its still done...
treating your bike with respect
wtf hah
35 degree weather?
celcius
Probably Celcius
I Wonder if this would have happened to a 2 stroke
Of course idiot
you guys should get a paddle tire if you ride in sand a lot

Sorry about that bro, but exist 3rd gear or even 2nd :/
rev limiter much?
Rev limiter is floating the valves... Go bounce your bike off it and see how long it last
screw what anyone says man, this stuff happens.

lol if u would quit freakn revving it so damn high... :D

nice one bro LOL
Pick it up dude your gonna spill gasoline
Why did you not pick it up, dont just let it sit there.
Why is everyone saying it’s just because it’s a four stroke… that’s so not correct all engines can blow up
Finally! someone who understands.
2strokes are more likely to blow up, they rev much higher then a 4'stroke
Yes, everyone knows that 14,000 rpm (modern 250f redline) is less than 11,500 rpm (250 two stroke max rpms. Even a 125 two stroke doesn't rev as high as a 250f. (excluding Suzuki RM125)
well my ktm 85 sounded better when it blown up than my crf150

I could hear him holding the rev limiter that's how he blew it up
+Jordan Colr No, belive it or not a bike can handle rev limit for more than half a second..

that was human error, not the bike
all I see is a guy dropping his bike.
i dont remember asking or caring for your opinion bud...
that sucks poor kawi
yes i blew my conecting rod on my rm125 this summer, sucks llol
@ColtonB96 lol too bad a 2 stroke engine lasts about 1/4 the time a 4 stroke will. I have had plenty of experience with 2 strokes, they're garbage
That's y I don't ride in sand
From the very beginning of the video your bike sounded like it was going to fall apart.
Bdo'sMotoAdventures
IF ONLY THE BIKE COULD TELL YOU HOW IT FELT. lmaoooooooo
sand+dumbass=fucked engine.
I got the same helmet
he wasint over reving the 2012 kx250fs just sound like that i ride one myself
surprised it blu up, he dont know how to take the bike out of third gear. nice bike though man
ive got that helmet
Bro your idle is wayyyyy to high
Go to 0:16 on the clip and you can hear it thats farkkeedd
My bikes idle sounds the same atm.
But I'm not dumb enough to go riding before cleaning the carb out
dude if you listen to the bike you can hear it was fucked already

1:28 lol fuck this i quit
4 stroke
Do you not know how to shift, you were like riding the rev limiter it was torture to my ears god damn
This happened to my kx as well, same year same make.
should not went in the sand
SHIFT,,
screw that. ill stick with my 01 2 stroke. much better bike if you ask me
You're wrong
im not hating on you but PICK UP YOUR DAM BIKE!!!
over reved
hahahahahaha your bike pulled a typical kawi on you! get a real bike! ride a huffy! or mikes sister, shes a honda!
Should've gotten a 450
2 smokes for me baby 91 kawi kx 500 is my baby no prob what so ever
your riding that like a 2 stroke thats why it blew
