When I meet someone and they say "this is me, I will never change"..I run for the hills because all I hear is "I'm not open to growth". I believe that the purpose of a human being is to grow. Growth also means self-awareness, being able to take criticism, listening to others from your heart and not from a place of defense, and being able to accept that all your experiences are not all there is to life. Lejoy is a beautiful lady, strong personality but watching her on the RHOJ show, I am of the opinion that she needs to listen more. She came across as someone who talks a lot but doesn't listen.

I'm also like her most people tell me that I don't listen and I'm soo defensive and that's frustrating because I mean like it's something too difficult to change
It's your personality and yeah we have different personalities

Personality is not constant. Research has proven so. Some of our actions are usually motivated by past experiences/trauma. Perceiving every conversation/criticism as a personal attack prevents growth. Sometimes when ppl criticise us or say anything that we perceive as negative they bring to life old memories of someone who criticised us a lot when we were children. Our angry or defensive response is a consequence of an old memory coming to life. We see them as that "person" (e.g parent or school yard bully) who attacked us previously. So when they open their mouth we shut down and go into defense mode. Hence I say self-awareness is key. We need to stop and think why we act the way we do, instead of always thinking there's a witch hunt against us. Especially when our actions affect other people negatively. Not everyone is out here to hurt us or is against us. 🙏🙏🙏

Talks a lot and listens less. Wondering if it was all for the show or this is how she interscts with others on a daily basis away from the screen.
