You are pretty handy at moving that plastic with the tractor. I've had a cow get right in a round bale feeder and it was froze down and she wouldn't jump out, and I tried to make her jump. It took me 6hrs of chipping frozen manure and ice to get the feeder lose and tip it over so she could walk out. Last year I had a calf that would push her self into the bale feeder and get stuck and then eat enough it was hard to get her out, She got stuck 10 times and then she never did it again.
Yap I'm with you on hang ups. Just about quit using bale feeders with calves. One had back leg hung as it was exiting a empty feeder. It drug the feeder into electric fence ( during the night ) where I found it dead next morning. Had cows hung in them too. A come-a- long will work most of time , to bend the bars away. Smalltown Farmer88 I went to load cattle for a guy we got part loaded and the bull decided he wasn't having it he took 6 corral panels and a 300# calf and went down over the hill at a run and a jump lol

LVF Northern Wisconsin Farming your comment made me think back when I was a kid my uncle stored stuff on the family farm he was kinda a horder but he brought home road expansion joint tar in cubes I had a goat that laid down on 1 at night to get warm but when it warmed up she sank into it. It was like a cartoon just 4 feet a head an neck sticking out. Dad was going to shoot her but me being a kid an throwing a fit the whole family worked all eve cutting and melting the tar off. She lost all her hair but lived and was for ever after called tar baby she was black.
Many calves stuck in feeders, lost two over the years. Had a cow try to climb on the hay wagon and get her leg stuck in the gap between planks, she stayed calm while i cut her out with a chainsaw.
i had one stuck in a old apple tree, the tree had a hollow spot just big enough to stick that bull calfs head in. i had to saw it out with a old handsaw

Had a cow knock off a ladder hanging on a wall and she got her head through the rung and down the hollow she went running with a ladder on her head
