This is a good feeder. I have had it for two years. The only issue I had is last winter some moisture got into the spring mechanism and froze up so it would not drop when a squirrel got on it. After cleaning it up never had a a problem again. I have a Droll Yankee Flipper - within 6 months the squirrels jammed that up and stopped it from working - that feeder is not worth it (buying an expensive one with a motor is probably not the best idea). I also have a Brome squirrel proof feeder. The squirrels eventual found a way to pry the top off. I put a screw through it and that has solved the problem. That's my experience - basically squirrels will never give up so probably every one of these squirrel proof feeders will end up being defeated. So buy a cheaper one would be my recommendation.
@Gilligallou Bird - Have you had much success with this feeder since you set it up last year? I'm seriously considering getting this (lots of woodpeckers where I live), but some reviews online have pointed out certain design flaws. Some buyers have complained that the ports for the birds to get the suet from are pretty narrow and don't give their birds much room to get their beaks in. Others have said that because this design if pretty unique for a bird feeder even from Brome, it's been difficult to even attract birds to eat the suet period. Have you run into these issues at all?
Ryan Togioka Good Morning, thank you for your inquiry. To date all of our feedback has been positive, we have many customers with them. I find the biggest issue is the poor quality of suet product out there. All of our seed n suet is of much higher food value, I say this as it doesn’t go to mush and has no filler or waste product in it. Using our suet feeder we have no issues, lots of feeder visits? I will investigate some though and will report back to you should I find anything. Where do you live? Thank you, let me know if I can help in anyway further, Bob , 😊👍
@@68greenbelt Hi there, how are you ?, Yes, very good product, very effective in both departments. I actually was involved in testing before it hit the market a couple of years ago. Works very well, thank you , Bob

@@gilligallou Are you satisfied with this new squirrel buster suet feeder ie it does "repel" squirrels but does attract birds?
