My Mississippi is beautiful! The older homes deserve to be fixed up and they do a fantastic job!

This was very nice tour of Laurel. Today, I have been watching various channels featuring Erin & Ben. I had no idea of their story. I love their show and watch it all the time. But now, I feel like i love the show more because of the kind of people they are. Thanks for sharing this tour of Laurels. Makes me want to jump on a plane and take a trip there.

I'm originally from Laurel, Maryland. Seeing your show and the older homes gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling, like I'm back home in Maryland. Love you two and your shows.......each one is so different. You have such a sweet little girl. Take care, stay well and keep up the good work.

This looks a lot like many of the smaller, more rural towns in Florida. I prefer old town charm and antique shops to the touristy club-and-beach scene. I'm a born native Floridian (1961) and it's hard to see the fast-changing scenery, since millions are now moving here permanently. Scenic old towns are, in many ways, the best places to live, but they aren't staying that way, not in Florida.😕

Lori Bragg I’ve grown up skating downtown laurel it’s in the middle of bad neighborhoods to the fact that u will see homeless people and tweakers walking around and the stuff that the people travel to see isn’t a part of laurel the tourist know it’s stuff they built Bc of the show just for the tourist nobody likes the show that are from laurel and I’ve read a few times where people move down Bc they seen the show and thought it was a nice town and stuff gets stolen from there yards and stuff it’s not a good place to live

@@adenhaigler2164 I am so sorry to hear that, but it's the same here. I live in Homosassa in a beautiful house appraised at $230,000 and surrounded by a wooded preserve. We just moved here about 5 months ago, and our closest neighbor is a convicted felon with a history of drug abuse. The police just made a major raid on the house about 3 weeks ago and arrested a bunch of people. Florida is not the paradise it seems to be either.😕 I've learned that even people in million dollar houses and very high security are battling burglaries. I think it's just the world we now live in.

Lori Bragg yea I mean ocean springs and bay St. Louis is where to go if u live in Mississippi I live in Richton and it’s 10 mins away from Laurel we live in the middle of desoto nation forest and we house is around 300k so I can relate it’s just Laurel isn’t what everyone thinks it is ocean springs is the nicest town in Mississippi for sure so if u ever come go to the coast and if u ever do go to the next state over and visit New Orleans

I'm also a native-born Floridian (Jacksonville), also in 1961, that lives in Laurel now. It is indeed as beautiful as shown on the show. There are certainly less attractive areas as in any city of this size. However, we welcome all visitors to see Laurel for themselves.

James Graves they act like everything is better then it is and the stuff that is nice was built for tourists it’s a wast of time if ur in Mississippi there are way prettier towns and even downtown laurel there are crack beads walking around one asked me for 50 cents the other day and u say areas that are not that great but that was in downtown by the fountain lmao it’s all bad and it’s getting worse as I get older Why should someone come visit laurel when u have the coast and places way better and nicer even Hattiesburg is nicer just bc more to do ya know

Laurel is a beautiful town. When looking for a house or a tour, the mayor's office and the town council gives you a map of what streets they want you to tour. We didn't go by that. We went outside the map to see this town. A lot of empty houses. This reflects downtown. Most of the buildings you see on the show are EMPTY. Yes EMPTY. Folks, you've got to really, really look into this town. Its been mismanaged for years. It shows. Home Town is about a couple that rebuilds houses. Erin is a designer, Ben is a furniture maker and his prices are EXPENSIVE. Neither carry construction certification or licences.

@@cd4507 we're still looking at it. There are business opportunities there. The existing town counsel needs to wise up. We invest in reality. To many downtown buildings are a facade. We walked around to look at it for ourselves. Ben is a furniture maker. Erin is a designer. Neither are contractors. We like what they do. We do not like the local government. Mississippi is a poor state compared to the other States. We love Laurel. It's to bad they can't get their act together. That town is perfect to invest in, If the local Gov will. No one tells me what to do with my money. Listen and ask questions for yourself. Judge it. It's your money. 💰
