There is a practical solution for the Birthday cake problem without the stacking (which would ruin the icing): You do the first and the second cut regularly to get 4 quarter circle pieces. Instead of stacking them on top, line them up on the table like this (sorry for the poor ASCII art): (>(>(>(> Now you're able to do a single cut through all 4 pieces, cutting each in half. With the icing still handsome.
Lining those up like that so that they each have the same angle seems a lot trickier than just vertically stacking them so you can definitely align them, but these puzzles always assume superhuman accuracy anyways haha
These logic videos have been making me so happy! It's fun to pause the video and try to figure it out myself before I watch you work your way through it. I used to be super into this stuff as a kid and I'm glad to revisit it.
I found the 3rd one satisfying. Reframing the problem is often key. As you said, you step back and realize that there's exactly one game per loss, and everyone except the champion loses exactly once, then the answer becomes obvious. However, reframing questions is a skill and you have to be in the habit of stepping back and considering the problem to make good use of it.
Absolutely LOVING these new videos of the logic puzzles. I am now 48 and i recall as a kid from around 9 or 10 years old until maybe 14 i used to have a couple of books of logic puzzles and I'd sit and pore over them for hours, rarely getting that many correct but i did eventually learn the ways and means to getting near to the solutions. They just were always so damned difficult!! I am sure the books were aimed at adults! Anyway I finally found a way of interesting my girlfriend in my youtube watching! We have been watching these together and pausing the video as soon as you finish the explanation and we both try to come to an agreed solution..! Having some great laughs in the process. Thanks man, I just love your channel and seemingly all the work you put out. I want more 'Heists' podcastery! All the best to you and yours ♥️👍
When you were solving the conditions for the 4th puzzle, you missed a crucial piece of information. You said "one member" noted this, but if it were phrased as "one member", you wouldn't be able to have a conclusion. It's only because "one physicist" noted this that this puzzle has a unique solution. The "one physicist" is the specific physicist that attended to force it not to be 100 chemists.
I read this as one physicist noticed, and therefore took himself out of the puzzle. Meaning there were 2 physicists because the other 1 physicist could be paired with any chemist. So 2 physicists 98 chemists
Oh man I have paused and figured out with you and checked when I thought I had the right answer and I thought the same as you with the cake now I’m paused again trying to figure out another way of cutting the cake.
Had the same moment of what!? When I figured out the matches. I swear I said the same shit with oh yea obviously everyone has to lose until there’s 1 winner!
That riddle for some reason assumes doubling up is effective haha, and that no fluids get between the condoms at all in the transfer process haha IDK it sounds like phone sex is waaaaaaay easier lol this entire riddle is hilarious
Loving the Diagrams! haha great job!

I was with you on the first cake solution. 😂

This is the best video I've ever seen on TH-cam
Very entertaining (as usual ;) thanks for the video!

Wow, please do more logic puzzle solving! This video was really good!
Hey Nelson is dope, I have his book. It's helped me with remembering names and my long term memory. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Start off with the dirty one😂 love it👍
If a physicist & a tennis player wanted to have sex with a birthday cake but only had one condom, how could they do it without bumping uglies?😂
😂
I enjoy these puzzles. I look forward to your videos.
8:00 you have to eliminate all players except the winner.
Good job Wes... Hellooo hi from Croatia :) :) Love you and your crazy videos... Keep going :)
Spending my lunch with Wes is the best thing that will happen today.
You’re birthday cake idea was solid.
These are fun, Wes!
I liked your original cake solution!
Great fun sir! Keep these up!
Living these logic videos 🤘.

HEY! I got the last one 😜
Cool video, man! Thanks 🍷
But what if all scientists are chemists? In that case, any two scientists will still have at least one chemist.

Well no wonder our boi solved the unsolvable puzzle @ the house of Ramsay.
Wes: The condom one was the *HARDEST*
Nice diagrams on the first one.

Perfect!

related to the birthday cake puzzle... how many pieces can you get out of a bagel with only 2 cuts
Spoiler?
6, if you cut an X, from the side.
Safely Wes, SAFELY!

Condom one is very well known:
Your solution for the cake was significantly better than his.
