I’m really impressed in how they dealt with a topic like mental health. In Chinese culture having a mental illness is mostly stigmatized, it’s nice to see an anime addressing it this well.

I- I JUST BINGE WATCHED THIS WHOLE DONGHUA AND I AM IN LOVE???? I LOVE IT SO SO SO MUCH it's such a cute and wholesome story and the way they dealt with Yuduo's PTSD and hallucinations just makes it 100% better and aaah!! I can't really put into words what they did here... I'm just...... stunned thank you so much for animating, voicing and subbing these episodes. I'm so glad to be able to see Yuduo and Ke's relationship! I believe that there will be one more, right? I'll look forward to it!!
I actually cried at how well this show (and I'm guessing novel? I haven't read it) handled mental illness. What people like Yuduo need is a supportive ally, a dependable shoulder they can lean on no matter what. This donghua is amazing, and I wish it was more recognized. This is way more than a BL, this is a fleshed out, life-like narrative. I really love this so much, and I'm so glad I got this in my TH-cam recommendations. I just hope this isn't the last episode, and that the story has a happy ending.
I love that Cheng Ke was the catalyst for him to get help. He knows he has a problem and he is seeking help to manage it. Cheng Ke continues his life while also waiting for him. So romantic.

Waaaahhhhh Netflix got me spoiled! It’s hard to watch one episode a week when I’ve been binging entire series lol! Ah well, this one’s worth waiting for. Even though I’m part of the “instant gratification” generation. *insert frustrated anime rolling and screaming here * I really suck at waiting. I did look for the novel but I can’t find it in English, and I can’t read or speak Mandarin, so I’ll have to wait on that too. Aaaaahhhhhhh, I’m no good at waiting!!!! See y’all next week!

For example, Jiang doing the birthday present is after he came back from rehab, and noone knows his sickess except ChengKe, because hes been trying to act "normal" in front of his friends but actually he still in PTSD, he doesnt use his phone to contact his psychiatrist because he doesnt want others to find out, he always went into corner self harmed when hallucination occurs but noone knows, only ChengKe able to spot these and try to pull him out from despair, Jiang only ask help and cried in front of ChengKe. The gangster part, that gangster owned bars not car wash, the previous mysterious guy acted as ChengKe fan, in novel is a male supermodel who interested in ChengKe, ChengKe is born gay, that wine glass threatening is supposed to be in gay bar where Jiang followed ChengKe. Well theres alot more 🤣🤣 i hope there will be translated novel because its much more explained in depth about his illness and how they support each other, and very touching how they overcome it together.
Actually in novel is different which makes more sense. Jiang finally gave Chengke the number himself said if he could go along and meet her up, Jiang need his help to overcome without letting his friends know, ChengKe meet up the psychiatrist while Jiang stay the next table so they could talked about his problem. Then after that Jiang still think himself a burden and knowing wont full recover to so he scared and ran away but actually he went to rehab for 3 months. While ChengKe continue his life while searching for him as the doctor cannot tell him more. Then finally found him they return together and everything got better, Jiang even set up his shop although not fully recover. Only ChengKe knows his secret and hes the only antidote for him.
