    One cup lentils, 2 cups water, soak 3 hours. Drain, cover with water, then blend. No salt necessary. I brush non stick pan with coconut oil. Cover pan with lid until it isn’t stuck, flip, and cover again till done. I make fish tacos and use them.

      Sounds good! I tried another batch with coconut oil as well and it gave it some more of a crisp. It was good.

    Hey all,
    Next time I’m going to try adding some spinach and maybe some green onions and other herbs to the batter before cooking it. Let me know if you’d like to see that in a video. :)

    I will try the rinsing trick but experience so far is that whatever you do to them beyond covering them in stuff is that they taste like mud. Good consistency but red lentils do taste like mud. Tip when flipping is to get the spatula underneath before flipping with a side to side action not the pancake push action, seem to be less prone to breaking up with side to side.

    • @daughterofgod777
      @daughterofgod777  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no! I’m sorry about your mud experience. That’s no good. I have found that soaking them longer and rinsing well helps with the flavor.
      Thank you for the tip!
      What I like about these lentils is that they don’t break up all. I can flip it with little effort, granted I have the right non stick pan. It’s almost as if it has eggs it that’s holding it together.
      If you try out the recipe let me know how it goes. Hopefully no more mud taste. :)

      Try a different supplier of lentils. Maybe a bad variety.
      Should be very tasty not muddy!
      Also, I never soak red lentils myself, just rinse at least 5 times.

    What happens if its brown on the outside an mushy on the inside? Also can i use regular lentils or does it have to be red lentils

    • @daughterofgod777
      @daughterofgod777  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sindymendez1359 It could mean that the consistency of the batter is too thick, of when you put it in the pan, it needs to be spread flatter. You could try this, turn the heat down and cook it slower, or cover it with a top for part of the time so the inside gets cooked.
      I found that it took a few try’s before mastering the correct heat and batter consistency to get that perfect flat bread.
      Ive never tried it with other lentils. I prefer to stay with red anyway because they cook faster. With this recipe, other then soaking it, it’s not being cooked in the pan very long by making it this way. And beans and lentils not cooked long enough can be hard on the digestion so using red that has the least cooking time off all lentils I feel is best.

    "8 laws of health" - When you said that it was a dead give away :) EGW. My bride and I made these for the second time yesterday. I used a wee bit of oil in the pan because the first time I tried it, they stuck. However, I think the reason is that we are used to turning when we see the little bubbles appear on top. That is too soon. I took the risk without using oil, and let them cook beyond when the bubbles appeared - just for a little while. I was then able to "flip" them without the need for oil. We are trying to eject oil from our diet because the research shows that cells get coated with it and don't allow insulin absorption, causing insulin resistance. The data demonstrating convergence of seed oils, vegetable oils, safflower, canola and other processed oils with Diabetes and heart disease is indisputable.

      :) Yes! The 8 laws of health changed my life. I’m glad you were able to get it to work without oil.
      I agree about those processed oils like vegetable and canola ect. They are not healthy.

    How much lentils did you begin with? Most videos I have seen begin with 1 cup to 2 cups ratio of lentils to water. I didn't notice in your video any measurements except for the 1 t salt and there are none under the description. I have been trying various flatbread recipes the past few weeks- sweet potato, lentil, chickpea & buckwheat. Red lentils are my favorite so far, chickpea runs a close second.

      Hi Robin, I have the measurements in the video about the 30 second mark. I started with a cup of lentils. After rinsed and drained I added another 1/3rd of a cup of water. You can add a little more or less, as long as it looks similar to the consistency I showed.
      I love chickpeas. I’ve never tried it in a flat bread. I have wanted to try the sweet potato one. It sounds really good. Do you add anything to it? Like flour?

    For low sodium you can leave out the salt, right?

    • @daughterofgod777
      @daughterofgod777  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. The salt I’m using is pink Himalayan salt that has about 70+ trace minerals with it, similar to sea water. So the salt content is not nearly as high as white salt. You could try adding some herbs to add more flavor If you’d like.
