Public Forum Lecture 2023 Glenda Halliday

Professor Glenda Halliday is an Australian career neuroscientist and research neuropathologist specializing in neurodegeneration. Her research has made a major impact on understanding disease progression including developing rigorous quantitative methods for evaluating pathology in patients with defined clinical symptoms. This research has revealed there was more extensive neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease and related syndromes than previously thought. Her research has highlighted the unique role of certain genes and proteins in neurodegeneration. This knowledge is now used to develop diagnostic protocols and new therapeutics.
