    I love it when people who have absolutely no idea what they are doing go out and get a pet without researching how to properly house and take care of it, get rid of the light and get a che, that hide is to open for the snake to be comfortable so you need to change that out as well and you need a second hide for the cool side of the enclosure, you need an under than tank heater with a thermostat (very important), and you need to clutter that tank up

    Small tank, I advise an exo terra. Hope it’s on temporary. Also, you need a ‘cool hide’. Basically a hide on the side the heat lamp isn’t directed at. Just deciding to get an animal, without research, is terrible.

    Not to be rude but I suggest you look into coconut fiber as a substrate for your tank. Aspen can cause bad shedding for your snake. Also, look into a bigger tank or even plastic tub soon. Good luck with your snake.

    This is not hate but did you do any research at all? Ball Pythons need 30 or 40 gallon tank, not a 10 gallon tank. They also need tons more of hides and plants. The plants don't have to be real by the way. You just need a heating mat not a lamp. You should have done research.

    No!! Ball pythons shouldn't have a heat lamp! They arent a basking species, they need a cool side of the tank at room temperature and a warm side of the tank with heat from the bottom! Sorry not tryna criticize you or anything but that's not a proper set up!!
    Edit: a spelling error, and that tank is way too small even for a small ball python like that. Please. Do your research before buying a pet :'(

  • @Herrgabby
    @Herrgabby 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really hope you did some research before going to the petstore, but by the look of thing yuo havent. First of all the bedding is aspen, aspen is not a great substrate for a bp. Ball pythons need a high level of humidity and aspen dosent hold humidity well. Second of all the way of heat. Bp needs belly heat, that means that a propper heat mat would help, you should still have uvb. The third reason is the size of the cage. A ball python gets on averge around 1,5m, and that bo is allready got some size to him. They also need two hides on ether side of the cage. And at last. That bp has some stuck shed on his head, so you should’ve soaked him when you got home. Reptiles are not just something you buy on a random trip to the petstore like if you where going to get a hamster. You need to do the propper research before getting them. And thats all i gotta say

      Unfortunately petsmarts only hope of selling ball pythons are on impulse purchases. People go in and have no clue what they are doing or what they are buying (dehydrated, parasite ridden snakes). Its sad and unethical that petsmart has live reptiles for sale, but profit is far more important to them than taking care of animals, and thats not just reptiles, cats and dogs as well. Sure petsmart doesn't want their animals dying or sick, but the animals wellbeing is never the top concern for a corporation, its money.
