John I got to say one thing when you test you test right you test good and the results you tell the truth I appreciate that as being a bow hunter for the last 40 years my name is Carl and I live up in Maine
I love what alien is putting out! These are some seriously cool heads! And they don't cost an arm and a leg! I don't need to take out a second mortgage on my house to go shoot a deer. But I gotta say the v2 is still my favorite from alien. Really struggling between the alien v2 and qad exodus this year
I used the 200g version of this head. Fantastic head. Been using the 175g Ashbys by Alien lately. Definitely check them out. Usual nice video John thanks.
I really like the angle of the bevel. Seems to be a better angle for slicing thru tissue. I'm thinking even solid bone won't really do much edge damage.
Bought the 200gr matrix last year mostly because of your review and killed a 200lb bear with it the 1st hunt with them!. Got an excellent blood trail and down in about 100yds. Head looked brand new afterwards! Great reviews!
The V2 did hold up better but I'm really curious how that one how handles quartering shots with how steep the blade angle is- not sure if deflection becomes an issue. I shot these Matrix heads in 150 gr last year, killed a few with it no issues but I'm not opposed to trying something different. 7 of them shipped on eBay was like $50.
If I could find them I would send them to you but the first broadhead I ever used was a nap crossfire and the blades were free floating and when it entered the deer the blades wouldn’t rotate with the shaft for energy retention I was wondering if you’d test them if you could come across them
Did you worry about clearance on your riser ? I tried out public land hunting when I moved to Mississippi from Texas for college. I had 28 hours in the field till I got a chance to pull back and it so happened to be a 12 yard shot. I was using the g5 4 blades and long story short no deer with an arrow at the base of the tree… it was ruff going from sitting over a corn feeder with non pressured deer to public land…
I wanna see the difference in penitration at 72 v 65lbs! I wouldn't have cared if you didn't say anything! Lol Also your audio on this got muffled in a few spots.
Thanks Ricky.I noticed that with the audio. It is when I use my phone and how TH-cam processes the audio. It sounded great in my final edited footage. I just got a new--and very pricey--lapel mic, that I'll start using soon.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures awesome! Your audio is usually really good. Only your early videos have ever really not been good audio. But that's expected since you're just starting out!
Yeah, I just got a new one. It happens when TH-cam processes the vid. In my final cut the sound was great. So I just spent a pretty penny and upgraded. I'll start using it about 4 more vids from now.
Thanks for the feedback. I now have really expensive mics, but am realizing there is a glitch between my sound editing software and TH-cam processing. It sounds perfect when I finish it, but then once it's uploaded, it sounds like crap. I'm now just going to stop using the sound editor on my software.
I bought these broad heads a while back because of your other review on alien. Have to say, your videos are the best!
Thank you George. I really appreciate it.

Thank you Carl. Much appreciated brother.
Great review! Those are some tough heads for a decent price.
Yep! Thanks for watching
Thanks John. Another great review.
Thanks again!

Yeah, that V2 performed much better than this one. Love the rotation, penetration, and durability--especially with a full 1.5" cut.

Thanks, will do!
These heads are so darn simple, and so darn effective.
Yep! Thanks for watching
That 150 is a BEAST!!
True that.
They look great & will try them. Testing.... on game!
Cool. I'd love to hear how they work for you.
I really like the angle of the bevel. Seems to be a better angle for slicing thru tissue. I'm thinking even solid bone won't really do much edge damage.
Yeah, but the V2 held up even better. Interesting.

Great to hear that!! Congrats on the harvest!
@@LuskArcheryAdventures thanks alot! Also killed 2 of my best archey whitetail kills with the original ramcats this year. Also performed flawlessly!

I could see it potentially being a problem on extreme quartering shots...but I wouldn't take such an extreme shot anyway.
Impressive
Yep! Thanks for watching
Thanks John. I assume the front is double bevel for durability. Didn’t really work compared to the V2. Just resulted in less rotation.
Yep. And the V2 did better in the concrete as well.
Have you seen the alien archery ashby 200gn? Looks like a mean broadhead
Yep. But I'm not a fan of the 3:1--it's really not all it's cracked up to be. I'd take the V2 over it any day. But I haven't tested it officially yet.
If I could find them I would send them to you but the first broadhead I ever used was a nap crossfire and the blades were free floating and when it entered the deer the blades wouldn’t rotate with the shaft for energy retention I was wondering if you’d test them if you could come across them
Thanks Justin.I have tested the Swingfires, but not the Crossfires. I'd love to test any head people will send me :)
You should try there Ashby model if you get the chance looks like a great head
I am eager to test it as well...but it's heavier than most of the heads I test.

They worked fine for me. Depends on your arrow length.
Holy hell 800$ a dozen for those arrows I was gonna try em but wowwww
Yeah, they are a niche market for sure. It's because of the carbon they use.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures must be gold infused carbon haha
Id love to see you test the rage extreme 4
Yeah I would like to test that as well.If someone sends me a packI will gladly do it.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures i can get em just gonna be a bit before i do
125 looks like it hit a brick 🧱 😱 other than that cool for the price
Yep. Haha. It did.

Just put some landing gear and a mini turbine on this thing, and call it a plane, just like I bet it does on long distance shots exceeding 30 yards.
Nice
Fix your mic lol
