7 years ago, I had the choice between Europe or Cape Town/Joburg to study abroad. Choosing South Africa was one of the smartest decisions I've ever made!

@@cikuuzis managed to live the 1st 18 years of my life there without experiencing any form of crime, yes crime is high but its not like you're gonna get robbed every couple weeks so during a stay of a couple years its highly unlikely you will experience crime unless you're a total idiot

I adore this beautiful city. I was here for 3 weeks in August and I found it really difficult to leave. Walking along sea point, watching the ships go by at the V&A Waterfront, hiking Table Mountain... I've never experienced such an amazing place like this before and never will again, until I go back :)

I was in Cape Town over 12 years ago - stayed for 3 weeks . U forgot Paarl and Franschhoek and Hermanus !!! Awesome country !

No matter how many times I visit Cape Town, I feel it’s not enough. Beside it being beautiful with such a wide variety of things to do, the vibe there is so relaxed and of course I love the picture perfect scenery and photographic opportunities ❤️💫👌🏼

Harry Dural I mean you can go there like to the city centres it’s just that a lot of the most dangerous neighbourhoods are also on the Cape Flats like Hanover Park. I’ll ask my South African friend again about places to not visit and I can give you a more accurate list

Beautiful video! That sunset at Lion Heads Mountain gives me butterflies it looks so gorgeous 0:45. My hubby and I are going to be travelling around Africa this July and one of the places we're most excited to visit is Cape Town, the beaches, nature, mountains and scenery look so stunningly beautiful. We can't wait to be in South Africa and to do some hiking, surfing and exploring. It will be the adventure of a lifetime. Those African penguins look so cute just chillin on the beach 🐧🌍

@Uti Osuyah actually Bokaap is considered a "slums" area (the place where all the houses are different colours) but I totally agree with what you're saying. They're only showing you the high end places. There was no mention of the culture rich suburbs where your can enjoy a gatsby or African house music... You make out to be such a dangerous place but it's actually not. You just have to know where to go. Like any other place I the world.
I was born here from refugee families and then moved to the US when I was young. The US shaped my identity and my life but nothing can change where I was born. Can’t wait to visit

Visited Cape town ten years ago for a holiday. Was extremely lucky to have the best weather for the duration I was there. What a beautiful place.

I completely agree with your tips.. Although I would recommend also the Jewish museum, the National Gallery, The aqarium and Robbenisland.
As I am afraid of heights, I will skip the helicopters, but I agree it must be stunning!

They are banging on about crime... there's no where safe in this world. I live in Europe and it's not safe.
Judging by what we see on the video we will visit South Africa. We intend to spend two weeks in Port Elizabeth, highly recommend by colleagues. From Port Elizabeth we will spend a couple of days in Cape Town on our way to Joburg. We intend to spend a week in Joburg then heard off to Durban where we'll spend at least two weeks.
From what we gather the entire country has so much to offer. This will be our first holiday after two years of being stuck as a result of COVID-19.
We are a large group of 30 people and are looking forward to the journey👍
I wish the true natives could enjoy this paradise!

Thanks for showing off my city so beautifully. Born and raised here I can't say I've been to Boulders beach ever. Most of these attractions are not accessible to locals. It is just too expensive even for the middle class. Very sad....so we watch videos like yours to admire our city😆

Hope odyssey, nope. Been there and it is a tourist trap, trying to cash in on Mandela's name. Personally I like nature, and nature wise Robben Island is just a flat piece of rock with a prison on it. As attractions goes, nothing is more unattractive than a prison.
The mother city is a must see, people are friendly and the food is to die for, nightlife is also great

South Africa is wonderful, I stay in Cape Town. Traveled the world, and Cape Town is definitely one of the best places.
Just be careful when visiting South Africa, it is extremely dangerous. Do not walk alone at night, or wonder off in areas you should not.
Girls if you want to taste some local cuisine, becareful who you meet up with and take back to the hotel or visiting his place.
Frequently some goes missing, and found dumped somewhere. Or you going back home with the rape story that will haunt you forever.
Other than that, enjoy South Africa, especially Cape Town.
Again, just be careful.

Look reality is reality. It is dangerous here, doesn't mean you cannot enjoy this beautiful place called Cape Town.
A lot of our crimes in Cape Town are gang related amongst them, and innocent people get shot caught in the cross fires.
However, just do a quick Google about South Africa News, if you read beyond the corruption, you will see we have extremely brutal crimes.
Again, does not mean you cannot enjoy this country or Cape Town. Just do not be another tourist coming here and get murdered or raped, or if you lucky just mugged.
I live in Europe and I can confirm that gang crime and corruption at the highest level exists in Europe. There's no where safe in this world.

The crime you experience in South Africa is no different from the crime that exists in other parts of the world, it's a men's world and a corrupt one. After all if it was as bad as you describe why choose to live there? Meaning..... it's not that bad!
