@Laura Mcclain I agree. You have a valid comment. I simply wrote this thought thinking of the young people I've met along the way who had waited weeks or months (sometimes they planned it for years with their parents and counselors) to get an answer from their school of choice and weren't accepted. Also, others who applied for a scholarship were denied. They did do a part-time job while studying and today are doing better. My cousin who has two nationalities and has four languages in her; she applied to prestigious college to study psychology. She was denied entry. She did try smaller community based colleges in MA and graduated in 2018. Thank you for being an inspiration and a column of knowledge. I hope you have a great week Laura!
how should PRIVATE schooling be fully accessible to everyone, exactly? it's a _private_ school, the very word "private" inherently means that it absolutely isn't accessible to everyone. if you don't want to go to a free public school, _then_ you _choose_ to pay for the services of a private school. what _should_ be fully accessible to everyone is good public school education
There was a study done around our area about public versus private schools. It seems, they all equal out when it came down to cost per student per year. One of the lowest testing score school district actually had one of the highest cost per students.
I've been to a state and private school in England. I'm glad attended both because it made me into who I am today. I saw both sides, both very different worlds. I would say if you want success the private school is a better choice if you can afford it, but don't go broke sending your kid to one. One thing I would say is that at the private school people did not care about house, cars, designer brands or money, it was more about skills, hobbies and grades. When I attended the state school I feel as though people were much more conscious about these things. These days you have selective/free grammar schools, probably the best choice. With these fee paying schools and boarding schools, it is a class thing, friends and connections. People think that in a democracy everybody is equal this is not the case. Your monarchy, aristocracy and nobility got replaced with another ruling elite of the merchants, industrialists and banking class. They just overthrew the former and caused revolutions in the name of the "people".
My school was kinda like this : george school in bucks county PA. Campus was beautiful, offered many arts like wood working and ceramics, large international population, offer IB and AP, they had equestrian, etc. but it wasn’t elitist. Family income from the people I knew ranged from 700k to 26k a year. We are no where near the best boarding school in the US. some of the other campuses sounded like hog warts and Zoey 101 had a baby
1:45 it says it prides itself on being the oldest boarding school in the world?! In the UK this would considered one of the newer boarding schools. The Kings School in Canterbury is the oldest, it was founded in AD 597, 1300 years before this place. You can tell this was written by an American.
My school in England has almost all of this apart from the horse riding. It’s one of the best grammar schools and is over 500 years old, yet it’s infinitely less expensive!!!
Lots of money, and position, gets you exposure to schools like this, with wonderful perks, and friends from high places. These connections are everything in the future, concerning positions, business and opportunities. These are the people, and others like them, who end up running the business end of the world. Would love to see some high end education experiences for ordinary people, and what that might produce. I am sure there are lots of examples of how this might work, and the impact it might have on the world at large.
Good comment. I despise the idea of billionaires and think being the child of one would be a nightmare (for me anyway), but even as an old, very successful woman, I'm still envious of the education those kids are getting.
150 teachers for 400 students ? That's nearly one teacher for three students. It's almost like taking course by a personnal tutor by attending in an hotel rather than school. Wicked sick.
I guess it’s a little different but honestly this just looks like my university lmao. A lot of American universities are like this, especially the smaller private schools. Not cheap, but cheaper than this high school lol.
I realize this is a couple of years old, but Institut auf dem Rosenberg now claims to be far more expensive than Rosey. Also, I can't believe you left out that they ski four afternoons a week in winter.
Imagine you study in a school where student study less always show off whats their parents give them, how expensive their school supplies are 😂😂.also student makes Friends according their family class..... If you are rich but not as much as others i'm sure that student life ia hell in here
I don't think students in this status will be showing off to each other like that. Lol. That's cringe. Their name and status will speak volume for themselves. And "study less" won't even apply here. 400 students and 150 teachers, even if you don't want to learn the teachers will make sure you do. And you realize that if they are making connection it doesn't only equate to noble to noble. For example you're not rich on their level but have brain and others have power in industry you want to be in for the future, that will be win win too. It's funny how people think students in this class will make fuss about school supplies/clothes. All off them has that. Their competition and expectation is in different level.
Geez... And my high school doesn't even have its own land, our school borrowed a building from another school and we stay on school on average around 9-11 hours starting 7 am
@@asad200iq4why do you think parents send their children to boarding school, hobbies etc…. It’s to get rid of their children for a while so the parents can have private time. Almost every parents does this. It’s no secret. It’s only a secret for the children themselves, but once they grow up and get children themselves then they will understand that as well
I do not get the point of this school. I attend one of the highest ranking public schools in the US and we get a top tier education at (relatively) low prices for what we get (15k school taxes). There is no reason to pay this unless you want your kids to mingle among the elite to form connections; not to mention with good public schools you can actually sleep in your own bed and have life outside of campus
Or if you want your child to have the best possible time in their youth. Think Hogwarts in Harry Potter. Wouldn't you love to go there. Same thing. Plus people spend 10 million dollars on supercars, so why not this.
I go to a private school $500 per student and its cool its only Monday through Thursday 8:301:20 and very chill they have their own amphitheater for shows and they have school trips yearly one service and one for fun this year there going to tokyo japan which im going to and for for the service trip their going to Philippine to help make houses for 3 days fly down to island in Philippine with one of the top 10 beautiful beachs in the world
I think the richest school does not mean the best school. The best schools in the world are Russian and Japanese, I think so. The best schools are located in working-class neighborhoods, they prepare real "workhorses of the industry" from their walls come talented and able-bodied people who push forward the "cart of progress". The Elite of Society tends to degrade in the 4th generation, which leads to a Revolutionary Situation and a Change of Elite, a Change of Economic Formation, etc.
According to the experience of Soviet Industrialization, in order to train 1 talented Engineer, 500 Engineers need to Graduate from the University, so Mass Education System is needed, this is the Law of Evolution.

I’m going to pretty private school. It’s very comfortable to study there. In my school, we use computers to study too. It’s also very expensive. We are friendly there. We don’t accept rude people there. It is big and we have pretty big and modern entrance. There are also tecnologie clubs. We have good education and we have own app. For education. We have smart board to study. It’s very comfortable and building is big.
In my country India 🇮🇳 "Sainik School" managed by Govt. of India has everything what this school offers and the annual fees is little over than 1 dollar. There is no difference of rich and poor, anyone can apply for a seat, all they need is to crack the entrance exam to get a seat.
This school is for only the elite class. They're there to make future connections than to study there. And the sainik school is paid by the tax payer money 💰.

That's a fantasy. School should be just school. And no high schooler would ever love every minute of school.
how should PRIVATE schooling be fully accessible to everyone, exactly? it's a _private_ school, the very word "private" inherently means that it absolutely isn't accessible to everyone. if you don't want to go to a free public school, _then_ you _choose_ to pay for the services of a private school.
what _should_ be fully accessible to everyone is good public school education
This is basically being a princess/prince without being a princess/prince
Except that some of them are literally princes and princesses.

High end education for ordinary folks can open doors to high paying job opportunities and career advancement.

_Having delayed the enemy and thus ensured the success of the retreat of the main forces of the Russian army, the detachment hastily retreated in the dark after the battle. The Russians repulsed the last French attack already during the retreat in the dark. Although the wounded were ordered to be left behind, many of them dragged themselves after the troops and asked to lie down on the guns. Among them was a pale Hussar junker, who, supporting his arm with his other hand, approached artillery сaptain Tushin and asked permission to sit on the gun. "Captain, for God's sake, I have a concussion," he said timidly. - For God's sake, I can't walk anymore. For God's sake! It was obvious that this juncker repeatedly asked to sit down somewhere and was refused everywhere he asked in a hesitant and pitiful voice. "Let him go, let him go," Tushin said. Rostov was the junker. He was holding on with one hand to the other, was pale, and his lower jaw was shaking with a feverish tremor. He was placed on the very gun from which the dead officer had just been thrown. There was blood on the officer's greatcoat, which stained Rostov's trousers and uniform. Rostov's wounded arm hurt terribly. Snow began to fall from the dark sky, Rostov forgot himself for a minute, but during this short period of oblivion he saw his house, a fluffy fur coat, a fast sleigh and felt the love and care of his family. "And why did I come here!?"He thought about it. Rostov was 20 years old. This was his first battle._

The cheekbones become larger and higher (the maxillary sinuses increase), reducing the bones of the eye sockets (sub asian eyes), the chin becomes more pointed, the shape of the nose and jaw changes. The ears are also modified to protect against frostbite, and sometimes the earlobes merge with the cheeks.
