    Takes a lot of balls to sit in the pocket and throw down with the dude who’s finished you twice. Izzy really showed out today.

      Great ko from Izzy but did he sit in the pocket by choice? Looked to me that he couldn’t handle the calf kicks, got backed up due to getting caught and badly hurt by Alex’s combos and Alex made the crucial mistake by rushing the finish and got sent to the shadow realm

      @@Bricktop2023 Izzy's leg hurt, but the difference is he stayed focused while he was being pressured and countered. His normal reaction is to back out and move away from the pressure. It's similar to Conor vs Diaz 2 where Conor stayed calm during the Diaz onslaught

    • @kornandfoofighters
      @kornandfoofighters ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4-0 wasnt a narrative , reality it was 3-0 and in elite glory kickboxing, they fought in mma just to stand up, the argument sucks, but either way with an Iz win, ill go for another 3 fights between these two, no matter who wins, no one here is actually winning ? So either way its probably the best fights you gonna get in the division, but if you wanna do the 10 out 10 times, well if anything it seems like Izzy is the one who gets the 1/10 and alex is already 3 down towards 10, can you do that maths?

But still, there's no way not to respect someone who just completely rises to the challenge and occasion. And as corny as this may be, I'm literally preparing to upend my life based on his post fight speech. Is there any title rematch in the history of the UFC with such a spectacular ending? I think Izzy just joined the GOAT conversation. Personally, I don't need to see him fight Pereira again. Tired old fighters like Bisping and Sonnen are already talking rematch because they have the memory of a Goldfish. We all know Pereira was fast-tracked to a title shot. He avoided all the great wrestlers in the division while Izzy fought and beat them all. Let's see what Pereira is really about. It's now time for Alex to fully pay his dues. He needs to fight Vertori, Ghastelum, Costa, Cannonier and Whittaker before he gets another shot at the middleweight belt. Otherwise, he can move up to the next division and compete in his true weight class.

    The irony, and perhaps, poetic justice here is that Pereira said Izzy "fights not to lose", while he "fights to win". That dsiciplined, "boring" fight style Pereira alludes to has earned Izzy a lot deserved and undeserved criticism, but its also helped him with title defences.
    Conversely, Pereira, the more dangerous fighter, who "fights to win" has lost his title first title defence because of that style of chasing wins, and inadvertently being reckless.
    In this one, however, Izzy's style was much more balanced. More offense with good defence.

Israel was brilliant, no question- but it has to be said that Pereira is/was susceptible to being rocked and KO’d because of that extreme weight cut. Before when he got popped in Round 1, and the flash KO this time. The first right hit him clean, the second got him on the top of the dome. With 20 extra pounds without having to severely dehydrate, his chin would’ve been better… especially at this age.

    I don't believe perriera's garde was what put him in trouble
    Its the way he threw his flurry of attack when Israel was hurt and trapped against the cage. He was to greedy and earger to get the ko and put himself in a position to get countered hard.
    Perriera did a terrible job at hiding and masking when he wanted to throw his left hook, and when he does that mistakes he exposes his temple and back of his ear form straight right hands and Isreal timed him perfectly.
    in the previous mma fight he had the most success damaging Israel without getting risking to get countered dangerously like that by just feinting more and throwing and landing his powerful jabs at Israel when he had him against the cage which help him disrupt and nullified most of Israel attempt ms at countering and also help him freeze adesanya in place for a few seconds which then helped him land his combination and his left hook more safely without getting the risk to get countered by big shots.
    Actually perriera did the same mistake in the first round of the first mma fight, he got too greedy at the end of the round forgot to use his jab and feints and was to focused on landing the left hook, exposed the side of his head (temple and back of the ear) and Israel timed him perfectly.
