My wife and I moved from the US to the UK in our 30s with 4 small children, now (in our 50s) we are in the process of moving to Italy starting next year. We also believe we should take every opportunity and everything happens for a reason. Keep living life to the fullest! :)

I am a Cuban guy in his thirty nines living in Miami, where I have lived here for almost 17 years. In 2018 my then girlfriend invited me to go to Italy. We visited the typical places people visit on their first time to Italy (Rome,Milan,Florence,Positano) and a couple other places.I came back from that trip totally infatuated for with the country.Started to learn italian, started to cook and buy italian wines, started to read more and more about the culture. Then 2019 came by,and since I was single that year,I decided to visit Italy again, this time with my mother. We had an incredible trip together visiting Emilia Romagna and then Liguria.Three weeks of pure bliss, experiences, awesome lanscapes and the most delicious food.Yet again,at the end of the trip I came back to Miami feeling sad.I felt more at home in Italy than at home.Long story long I have visited Italy multiple times since my first trip.Spent a month in Puglia and Matera last year and this year spent another month in Procida,Ischia,Napoli and Matera again, this time by myself.Everytime I come back home I have this feeling of emptiness,I daydream about moving to Italy all the time,I get goosebumps if I learn certain things about the culture or listen to a certain song.I feel my soul belongs in Italy but I am not brave enough yet to gather all the required information, pack my bags and leave.I dont know where to start. You guys are my inspiration and your videos satiate my thirst for the “Bel Paese”.Thank you!!!

Gabriel...your story is similar to mine! I live near Miami also...my father moved to the states when he met my American mother in 86' and my whole family is Italian and they live in a village an hour from Matera. I just planned my next trip this summer with my sister. I would love to meet you there!

Amazing story as I'm also a firm believer in our destiny meant to happen in our lives for a reason despite some of the tough times when we can't comprehend fully why it's happening or why it happened and/or loosing faith in ourselves. Congrats to you! Very inspiring story! keep on doing what you love and what you believe in!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful story to us!

Misha, I can’ tell you how much I enjoy your videos and especially this one ! I was born in La Vucciria in the city of Palermo. My ancestors is 100 percent Mediterranean including Phonesian blood which is from Lebanon. I grew up in the USA and I have always had Lebanese friends, who I am very close to to this very day. One of my friends was a Marrionite priest and his family and I even went to his church. When I saw your emotion when you spoke of your brother, I cried with you because l lost my brother Santo as well. I wanted him to move back to Citta Palermo with me and now that will never happen, so I am getting my Italian passport renewed and will be going back within two years. I feel more comfortable there and I love being there, it is where my heart is and always has been ! You and your husband are beautiful people and I sincerely hope to meet and become friends with both of you when I return to Sicilia. You both will always be welcome in my home and my heart ! Please stay in touch with me it would mean a lot to me. Sincerely, Pasquale Ventura

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment, Pasquale ❤️ I am so sorry to hear that you also lost your brother 😔💔I’m sure you will have a great adventure when you fulfill your dream of moving back to Sicily & just remember that he will always be with you in spirit ❤️ That is so nice that you are friends with Lebanese people, my mother is also Maronite! It seems we have a lot in common & hopefully we will get the chance to meet you one day in Italy! ❤️🇮🇹

Thank you both for your warm and sincere reply. I feel like I already know you because when you speak an write it is obvious that you have a very warm and beautiful heart ! This is a trait of most Mediterranean People and I am proud to be one of them ! I have 3 beautiful children and they all grew up around Lebanese and Sicilian Families and to this very day they remain very close with each other. When I was in Los Angeles q

OOPS! When I was in Los Angeles with my oldest daughter we found a Lebanese restaurant called Sunnin located in Westwood and let me tell you the food was fresh and authentic and the family that owned it were immigrants from Beirut. They treated us like we were members of their family ( hugs, kisses, beautiful hearts and wonderful food ) what more could you ask for in life ! We ate there many times and will do so again , God willing ! When I was in high school I played in a summer baseball league for the Lebanese Club and won the league championship 3 years in a row. The coach was Sicilian and there were 3 Sicilian players, one of which was me and the rest of the team was made up of the sons of the members of the Lebanese club. The pardoned was Frenchy John and I even worked for his candy and tobacco company in the summer. I loved Mr John, he taught me a lot about business ! Hope I didn’t bore you, I just wanted to let you know why I have such great Love and respect for your culture as well as mine ! Still working on my move back to Palermo and I believe that when I do get there, the three of us will be very good friends ! Please stay in touch and I Love You Both ! Pasquale

Your story does appear to have destiny, but it was your desire that made it happen. You took advantage of opportunity. This is where many fail when they fail to grab at opportunity simply because of fear and the unknown...hence the conservative is born.
