    Thank you OverlordMoon, this was an enjoyable video! Loved that you reviewed the strat again too . I totally get that sometimes dying in a bg can be the best thing because it resets your mana (I heal as a Disc Priest). WTG on the ending, dueling the mage for the base ending in a team fight, sweeet!

    Epic match, hoping for more videos describing a match (win or lose). Very entertaining and informative. Thanks Moon

    Man I’m having a hard time with blitz I like to think I’m a decent player I’ve been a 2100 player since bfa but man I just can’t seem to break 1800 in blitz. I’ve been researching the strats and my team just can’t seem to get ahead. Then I get frustrated and go play shuffle I’m 1800 there as well then just when I think I’m getting ahead I literally get cdew on his resto druid and I win only one round and lose all my progress. It’s just very demoralizing especially since I’m a dad that has only 4 hours a night to play if I’m lucky.

    Why have BGE if you aren't gonna click through it? It seems like there were crucial decision making points after both flag caps where you didn't get any information on enemy positions, one of which led you to going to the wrong place.

      I'll still click through BGE on maps where there are objects blocking line of sight of the enemies (Battle for Gilneas being a prime example). The main reason I don't do this in EotS anymore is around 3 weeks ago I got a new computer that's able to handle having the render distance at max. From the opening of the game I can see where all the enemies are as they come out of the bubble so I don't feel the need to do that as extra. As BGE is a multi-purpose addon, this game I was able to see what active cooldowns were running from the enemies and track trinkets. It's why in the duel at the mage tower at 10:59 I opted to use lightning lasso over Hex, because I wanted to see if I could bait his trinket first into a Hex or check to see if he was running blink stun over shimmer.
      If you can link a timestamp we'll probably be more on the same page and I can have a better idea of what you're referring to? At least in the macro sense I feel like I was where I needed to be the majority of the time, it's just that there were instances such as with the Mage Tower when the Horde initially took it that I misjudged my team mate's capabilities and made the assumption that my allied healer would be able to handle the situation. Else, every major skirmish aside from the 1v1 at the Mage tower I'm matching the enemy healers 1 for 1 positioning wise.

      @@OverlordMoonim referring to 5:56 where I believe going belf tower would have been better than following the pres to mage tower. I believe there was only 1 or 2 dps contesting your ally there, although its hard to tell without bge clicking.
      Also in my mind knowing the number of enemies isnt that useful, because really what ur worried about is where the enemy dps are, and class information is also pretty useful

      @@kel1770 Ah, that makes sense. I suppose I can see Blood Elf Tower as an alternative play there. I'll admit, I didn't see my Feral contesting there on the map. My eyes saw the two enemies rotating from FR to BeT, then I opened the map and tried to find where my Prevoker was before committing to what I believed was a safer play. I was more fixated about not having mana and trying to find an opportunity to drink to near-full, which is why I opted to stay on our side of the map rather than pushing up. I think I'd have challenged Blood Elf if I had more mana, more cooldowns than just Ascendance/AG, and was confident that I could spin for at least 30 seconds or so to where I wouldn't be feeding and giving up an additional flag from not being at mid.

    So I’m a new to retail and I’ve gone 4-9 since starting to queue bg blitz. I lost a lot of close games this morning, had some afks and raging teammates. Is my mmr gonna be cooked for this season or can I bring this back reasonably easily after my placements?

    • @OverlordMoon
      @OverlordMoon  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I only had about a 54% win rate for my placements and ended up getting settled around 1600 MMR as my starting point, so the short answer is yes, you're only 1 win streak away from bouncing back. BG Blitz and RBG MMR is more volatile than Arena, so generally you'll see fluctuations of about 100 MMR in either direction per win or loss because the game will try to get you to about a 50% win rate. If you're able to go on a 3-4 game win streak, your MMR will be much higher than your Current Rating and you'll find yourself getting massive point gains per win. I don't know how inflated the season is overall, but we're only 1 week into a season that will be 5 to 6 months long. You've got plenty of time even if your initial placements were rough :)

      @@OverlordMoon thanks for the encouragement. I was pretty bummed after going on a 4 game loss streak before going to work. I’ve been watching your videos and I found some mistakes that I’ve been making, hopefully that’ll help with the games tonight.

      @@OverlordMoon damn I really appreciate that and might take you up on the offer in the future if I get hard stuck! When I got home I won every game straight to 1600 before I got off for bed, the strat guides for each map rly helped me out!

    I'm not sure if I'm going to make it long term. The toxicity is pure insanity if you're a healer. As.a solo queueing healer you already feel like a masochistic martyr. The toxicity just pushes me to want to quit. Just really taken aback at how toxic it all is after a many year absence. In other news, I feel holy paladin is probably the easiest healer in BG's, but they are in a poor spot rigjt now balance wise it feels like. What might be another healer to try if you're not a super player wbo isn't going to be motivated enough to have 50 keybinds burned into muscle memory?

      This'll probably be a hot take from me but I think that it's totally fine to play with chat turned off until you get to around 1800-1900 MMR, maybe even a little higher. Having played more Blitz changed my mind on this, and seeing how awful placement games are in gameplay, strategy, and toxicity - I really don't think your team mates will be saying much that'll be worth paying attention to chat for. I've also risked my account a few times getting into arguments with other players. It just isn't worth it. A lot of DPS don't know what your role should be as healer so unfortunately the healers are the scape goat for everyone's mistakes even when it isn't the case. I totally sympathize with you feeling frustrated.
      My go-to healer recommendations are Mistweaver and HPala. Definitely agree with your assessment of HPal right now. I've played every healer except for HPal and I've surprisingly found Mistweaver Monk to be the easiest to pick up and the least keybind dense of all the healers I've played. I'd highly recommend giving that a try if you haven't already. On top of being easy to pick up, it's also insanely strong, has a lot of mobility, and has a lot of opportunities to make solo plays as a healer that makes the spec really rewarding to play.
      Additionally, have you tried looking for duos in online/discord communities at all? There's a few communities I'm in that have LFG channels for duos in Blitz, and there's players from various ratings looking to duo with healers.

      @@OverlordMoon Yeah I just don't engage with the toxic people for the most part. Once in a while I may send a different person a tell regarding some particularly toxic person, but I don't ever engage directly or in bg chat. I just suck it up and endure it. I'll have to give mistweaver a good try for a while. I don't even hate the paladin despite their poor performance since I have a lot of past experience with the class. And they have a whole lot of solid buffs coming in 11.0.5. But I need another option.
      One thing for me is i am old, like late 40s, and I don't know how to find people to possibly play with. Not really sure how to seek those communities out

    • @OverlordMoon
      @OverlordMoon  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Apologies on the late reply! If you happen to have the Discord app, that's where the majority of communities are at! I personally know of Oasis, the SkillCapped community should have a discord, and I think the WorldOfPvP sub has their own discord community as well unless I'm mistaken, there are DPS players out there in the LFG channels of these communities looking for healer friends to play with, so these would be great places to network! Eventually I'm looking to start my own discord community up, but for the meantime, I personally will vouch for Oasis since I've had the most experience with them. discord.gg/oasiswow should be the invite code for them!

      @@OverlordMoon I'll have to browse those servers and see what I can find. I did engage the other day in a tell briefly to a guy being a huge jerk. I stopped myself fast and just put him on ignore, but darnit he got me to engage. But when your name is, and I kid you not, "Islapmygflol" I guess that just tells you enough to just put them on ignore real fast.

      I'm playing my healer correctly and everytime I get praised by people saying "Finally a healer that knows how to play".
      Maybe they're not toxic and you're not pulling up your weight ? :/
      By the way, it's nice to see a good healer sham give good advices like this, thanks @overlordmoon for providing people with good intels ;)

    This is awful advice. I've been doing BGs for years. If you lose the first team fight or die when you did not want to. You give up and type "GG". Blame the healer, people fighting in road or not playing to your expectations! Especially if it has only been 30 seconds. Clearly it is over.
    Give up strat is used with such relentless and unyielding consistency. It wins
