I love this shop, I visited last year. Sadly all of their items are marked up quite highly... the Ravenclaw diadem was £20 more than it should be! And the wands were £9 more. Ouch! I know they need to make a profit, but it seems silly to buy them here when you can get them cheaper from Noble Collection etc.
It's because the U.S. Dollar has such a lower currency value compared to the British Pound. It's actually decently priced for them there. But, ya definitely wouldn't buy anything there unless it's unique to the location.
It is indeed a magical shop packed with some really fun items. :D That is true for the US vs UK as well. Merchandise is a lot less expensive here than in the UK. For example the Ravenclaw diadem is $40 (£30) less in the US than direct through Noble in the UK. Perhaps this is due to import fees? I am not sure. That is the main reason why I didn't purchase a lot during my time in the UK. 😢 I hope you are feeling better and the move is going smoothly!
I stumbled upon this shop when I was in exploring Edinburgh for the day whilst there on business and just spotting it from afar was so exciting! The location is ideal, a winding cobbled street, and they went to such an effort to pack the window full of magical-looking books and bottles. I felt like I could have been in Diagon Alley. The official merchandise is a little pricier than in some other places but being a smaller independent store I can understand the need to make a profit. And they had so many other items that weren't specifically Harry Potter items but which really helped set the theme - magical-themed books, crystals and hand-made potion bottles, old brass instruments and such. I ended up only buying a wolfsbane potion bottle (which I had been wanting for ages so was really happy with ^^) but just browsing round the shop was such an experience. Even if you can't/don't want to buy anything, just go and have a look around, you won't be disappointed :)
Of all the shop tours you have done, this is my favorite! I love how packed it is and not only Harry Potter items. It makes the place even more magical ❤
Glad to see you’re back, Peter. How do you resist buying the shop when you go to these wonderful places? Or do you resist? If you don’t, I’m ready for a haul video! lol (I’m sure the luggage limit probably helps keep shopping sprees to a minimum when you’re there)
I can’t even believe that you don’t have 100k subs yet! Your Channel is awesome! But really, let’s be real here, you deserve 1 million Love your channel ❤️
Hey Peter, Its me Raven! ❤ Thank you for noticing me on Instagram! I love your videos and watched it every single day! ☝️😇 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR INSPIRING ME 😻
I wish that one day there will be ravenclaw merch with an eagle and the house colours blue and bronze. I know that the merch is using the movie as a refrence but it whould still be nice
Isn’t the birthplace of Harry Potter ‘somewhere on the rails between Manchester & London’ (when the inspiration came to Jo Rowling) or her Clapham flat in London (where she got to write her first words of the story once she finally got home)? By the time Jo started writing in Edinburgh, she had already brought back a box of notes & drafts etc from Portugal... 🤔
Edinburgh is where she wrote most of the book, where she found names in grave yards, and where the Elephant House is located where she wrote a lot of the story. :) Her old flat is there too.
I have a Ravenclaw scarf in pure lambswool that I bought a long time ago. Can not seem to find scarves in other materials than acrylic/mock wool. Do they still make them in real wool? Are those in the Edinburgh shop made to order, licenced, etc.?
Is anyone aware of a similar store in New York, or anywhere on the east coast? ? I'm so bummed that the only places that seem to sell this merch in the US are the Universal Studios parks
I've seen one or two times a skeleton hourglass with red sand. I think it's at Borgin and Burkes, do you know how much it is and if it's still there? I rarely see it in people's hauls.
Were you at the un-official celebration last weekend in Orlando? I’m pretty sure it was you. If it was you took a photo with my dad, he was dressed as Gilderoy. I was to nervous to ask.
That was me! AND I LOVED YOUR DAD'S COSPLAY!!!! Gilderoy is one of the funniest characters in HP IMO. Saturday I was the one dressed as the Richard Harris version of Dumbledore and then snagged a pic with the professor Lockhart on Sunday. Sorry you were nervous! I would have loved to meet you.
the USA dollar has nothing at all to do with a shop in scotland UK charging higher prices for potter items that any other store in the uk sells them for much cheaper in for example our local comic (not far from Edinburgh) shop sells noble magical creatures for £27 each while this store in vid sells them at £35 and everything they sell is marked up way higher than any other uk store selling the same items. The USA dollar has nothing at all to do with it. Its just this store is in Edinburgh (i live close) is one of the main tourist locations in Scotland and virtually every store in Edinburgh is higher priced for items than any other store in other parts of Scotland including Glasgow if locals go shopping we tend to go to normal priced stores and not the ones in major tourist locations for example my local comic book store sells noble collection magical creatures for £27 while this store sells them at £35. And wands and stuff are also way cheaper. So has nothing to do with the USA dollar its just a shop with high markups trying to make money in our #1 major tourist location so prices will always be way higher
I love this shop, I visited last year.

Also. Come to America already so we can run around Wizarding World! :D
Yep I noticed that too and had the similar, "ouch" reaction when I saw the diadem!

Saulė Lovegood The luggage limit DEFINITELY helps. 😄 But merch is usually cheaper in the US so I buy the things I like here. 🙂
Yeah, I noticed things were pricey. Primark would have gotten me. We really need those here - with the HP inventory.
Not even past the intro and already gave it a thumbs up. Happy to see those green eyes again. :)

Hmm... I THINK I remember seeing something like that at Borgin and Burkes. I'll need to check next time I go.
Thanks.

Hey Peter! Have you heard of the Azkabox? I’m thinking about ordering it- is it a good Subscription Box? What’s in it?
I have heard of it. The owner contacted me and is going to ship me their first box. I'll do an unboxing here. :)
The Potter Collector oh awesome! I’ll keep an eye out for your video- I can’t wait to see what’s in it!
I'll keep in my mind that if my mom wants us to go back London I'll tell her to go to Edinburgh

Can we buy noble collection wands online
Does this shop have the school robes

Hey peter what year is the 25th anniversary for the harry potter books in the USA
5 more years

I am sad..there is not such amazing store in Quebec...
Do you know where the best place to get pins in the wizarding world of Harry Potter is?
Natalie Hollon Everywhere. 😄 There are even pin stands. 😍
