Problems you have as a guitar player:
    1. You feel behind where you should be considering how long you’ve been playing for
    2. Not knowing what to practice which results in jumping around from thing to thing and overall just wasting your time
    3. You only ever learn parts of songs and struggle to actually finish one
    4. You lack motivation to pick up the instrument despite feeling very excited to in the past
    5. You’ve been playing the same licks/songs for years
    6. You can’t play what’s in your head
    7. Feeling nervous around better musicians
    8. You’ve never really gotten the hang of the metronome
    9. Music theory doesn’t make sense to you or feels like a massive task to learn and you don’t know where to start
    10. And above all, you just sound amateur
Because I'm smart as hell and understand your problems so well, I've addressed them all in 52 Week Guitar Player.
Chances are by this point you're aware that the program is open for enrollment. We are looking to take 90 intermediate level guitar players to an advanced level within the next 12-24 months.
By advanced, I mean helping you improvise anywhere on the neck in any key, write chord progressions you never would've thought of or knew how to previously, tighten up your playing, help you feel confident around other musicians, understand music theory, etc.
I created a video explaining how the program works that I'll link here: brandondeon.com/52wgp-video
This program is not cheap, but it is the best you'll find on the internet. Watch the video above if you don't believe me.
52WGP is for students who are serious about taking their musicianship to the next level.
You'll have until March 31 to enroll but fun fact about this stuff: everyone tries to enroll toward the end. People want to take time to weigh the pros and cons of joining - this is completely understandable.
But just so you know, as time passes the window of opportunity shrinks. And at the end of the day, yes the program will open again months later (this is my business and I'm not closing it). But instead of staying in the same place for months, I'm sure you could agree your time would be better spent getting a different perspective on things - not just continuing to play the same stuff you do all the time.
I do my best to help you chefs out with all of these fookin community posts all the time. For some of you, that's all you need. There's nothing wrong with that and I'm happy to be helping you out.
But for those of you that want to improve at a faster pace, I'll see you on the other side dammit.
Here's the link once again: brandondeon.com/52wgp-video
    Okay bye.
    -Brandon

Also mess around by mixing up modified versions of scales! Mix up chords from a harmonic minor with your C major progression. Or your C harmonic major with your C major progression! That leads to great progressions like
    C - E7 - F - Fm!

Again great advice. Key changes make music interesting and gives you more chords to play with. I like how you can move major chords up a tone several times which works well for changing keys. i.e. Play the chords C to D to E to F#. Then all of a sudden C# Major key is at your disposal. A G#7 at the end of that would make it an even an even smoother transition.

@@Av-te7zeI think it’s almost a shortcut, and I use that very loosely. But a lot of great players who don’t know much theory were probably jamming since they were a kid, and played with other musicians and learned songs and figured out what goes where in doing so. The beautiful part about theory is that you don’t have to wing it until it works. You just know it works!

A progression is the order of chord changes used. Most commonly used in modern music, is referred to as a "riff".
Ex: the first chords he lists out, is an initial riff "chord progression". Which can be lead into the second chords list, that would be referred to, as the second riff "chord progression".

They never needed to learn all those mathematical theories of music to become revolutionary and famous composers.
And that's not just true of Afro-Americans. Even Ennio Morricone, in his early days as a composer, confessed to knowing nothing about music theory. The same goes for Hans Zimmer and the great master Beethoven.
I don't mean to be pejorative towards the white community. I'm just stating the obvious.
White people love to study and analyze everything. It's great for the advancement of technology. But in music, the more you study music theory, the further you get from the music.
Take Jacob Collier, for example. He never composed a single hit in his life. He's a great reference in the field of music theory, but in reality he's not a musician, he's just a music scientist. His name will never be inscribed alongside composers such as Lionel Richie, Steve Wonder, Pharell William... All guys who never learned a single line of music theory.
The more music theory you learn, the further away you get from music.
Which means, if you know as much about music as you pretend to, get your butt out of that miserable youtube teacher's chair and go take your destiny into your own hands. Face your fears of failure and become the next rock star. Because I'm guessing you didn't spend all those years learning to play the guitar, only to show up on youtube giving lessons.
Was creating an army of guitarists your childhood dream?
