I don't understand why the aren't as famous as Epica or Nightwish. Edenbridge is a very good band with a very long and solid career. It's really a shame!

Love this! Edenbridge are a consistent band that always put out amazing music! Also they are probably one of the last female fronted bands with their original singer, the talented Sabine Edelsbacher

I think both bands are good, no reason in arguing which is better.
Both are different, and have a unique sounding.
TRIVIA: Epica giving their English lyrics to Gjalt Lucassen, Arjen Anthony Lucassen' s (Ayreon etc.) brother, who is a master in languages to translate them.

There’s quite a bit lyrics written in Latin in your songs, which one of you know this language?
Mark: None of us. (Laughs)
Who writes it then?
Mark: I work these lyrics out with Gjalt Lucassen, brother of Arjen Lucassen; guy from Ayreon, his brother is Latin teacher. So, we work together with Jaap Toorenaar, friend of brother of Arjen Lucassen. We work with group together to translate my ideas into Latin; most of them are mine ideas and some Simona’s. Because Latin is the great languages for quires, it sounds really big and epic.

Im pleased ive seen them live in my home town of Blyth of all the places in the uk there were amazing and very friendly afterwards....
Sabine is a real angel, I met her in 2008 after concert. Before the concert I' ve asked Edenbridge merch lady to ask her to come out, so we can have a photo. She came out after Edenbridge concert, and told me: ''I never knew we' re that famous.'' She was surprised and really kind and humble. Thanked me for coming and after I' ve told her thanks for the opportunity for photo she told me you' re welcome.
All other bands members are cool, too, really socialized, played billiard, there was a billiard table in the club where concert was held.
They enjoy themselves, making great music, good people.

And they are among those few female fronted metal bands who never had a line-up change, regarding vocalist.
They have had massive line up changes in other places. But seeing as how Lanvall writes the music it does not matter. Lanvall and Sabine are Edenbridge.
Bad timing. Nightwish was blowing up by the time they put out there first album. Then as they went on Nightwish just got bigger and bigger and people compared them to Nightwish. Which I would point out Nightwish does not have killer ass guitar solos.
That is why I' ve said ''never had a line-up change, regarding vocalist''.
From big-or medium-known bands only Edenbridge and Within Temptation did not have a vocalist change.
Okay, After Forever and ReVamp did not have one, either, but these two are now not functioning/active bands.
Oh, and Delain did not have a line-up change and Epica from medium-and bigger-known ones.

Indeed, as Lanvall had said about the overall style of the album, it's fairly heavy, heavier than a good part of their repertoire, darker too, in places, but it's got a lighter chorus. The orchestra and choir bring a really epic edge.
Darker then Aphelion?
it seems so to me, at least. But I haven't played "Aphelion" in a long time, it is the album I like the less from Edenbridge, although it's not bad.

Ah ! Really ? I like them all, indeed. The first one is maybe not so well produced and several songs didn't reach the level of what would come but I loved their second album, Arcana, the one I discovered them with. I loved the fact that Sabine Edelsbacher was not pushing her voice too much, just singing clear with a deep soft voice. I had lost the track of Lanvall in 2000. Actually, I knew Lanvall from his three instrumental solo albums, that I liked very much (especially Aura). As for The Grand Design, well, I must play it again but I thought the title-track was really great...I enjoyed that it tired a few new sounds... The short songs tends to be quite similar... I think another composer might bring some diversity in the band. I rarely play them lately... but I sqtill think they are more interesting than the most famous metal bands with a singer, because they do a few really extended progressive tracks. My favourite albums might well be Shine, Arcana, The Bonding and MyEarthDream.

I only found somebody's character in WoW, so it's probably a fan or a band member. ;)
Much like ARCANA which this song contains elements of, it is a place of inner being and the song is implying that within this inner person of ourselves we have a light that we need to allow to shine and create a better world around us.
I happen to know this due to having conversations with Lanvall regarding upcoming themes and ideas a couple years back and he was eluding to a return to the older styles and themes from their early days and this concept in particular was one of them.
Shiantara deals with one episode of Star Trek DS 9.
It is a ritual of the Trill, a symbiotic life form. In this ritual the
actual host is gonna be faced with his former hosts in the form of
actual friends to whom the personalities are transferred. In the
original the ritual is spelled a bit different, but also a little bit
too complicated.
