    Grew up as a teenager when the Beatles first became popular in the U.S. Their first album in the States, Meet the Beatles featured an iconic cover of the group and George instantly became my favorite. There was something mystical about him that came through on the cover. Little did I realize how much he would live up to that image I'd had of him.

    • @thehighllama8101
      @thehighllama8101 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@janicenordstrom6154 I think it has to do with why Lindsey Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood Mac was at some awards ceremony (I'm not sure if it was the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame induction). At the ceremony, Stevie Nicks was giving a little speech, with the rest of the band was on stage behind Stevie. Lindsey supposedly was making faces while Stevie was talking. Stevie was really offended, thinking Lindsey was making fun of her. So, when it was time for the band to go on the next tour, Stevie allegedly demanded that Lindsey be fired. It was Lindsey or Stevie, so the band chose Stevie and fired Lindsey.

A Female is considered to be a Hussy. Loose. Promiscuous. or a Slut or a whore. Basically let individuals make their own choices as to what they do in their personal life's as long as they don't try to force anything on to another individual without willing cooperation . Then it's their own personal business "Who is anyone to Judge". ?

      I don’t think she was there to rob him. From an earlier interview a long time ago George had said he was in remission from cancer. After John was killed he bought that house that he thought was secure. That particular night a woman came in and managed to stab him over 40 times. Olivia managed to knock her out or at least away from George. Not remembering exactly some of those details. I think Olivia was stabbed also a few times. George said later he thought whatever he was stabbed with had some kind of substance on it that brought back his cancer. The rest is history.

      @@glendalangley1877 It wasn't a woman who stabbed George Harrison. It was a deluded man named Michael Abram. He thought the Beatles were witches and flew around on broomsticks, and that he was on a mission for God. Abram was released after 3 years.

    George was a phony ! He went behind Ringo's back and cheated with Ringo's wife ! He was also a whiner and complainer most of the songs he brought to the table in the Beatles were not even close to John and Pauls I'm not talking about the ones they recorded cuz most of those were very good Don't Bother me is one of the best songs on meet the Beatles Think for yourself is a fantastic song but mostly because of Paul's brilliant fuzz bass line and within you and without you is the best song on the pepper album while my guitar gently weeps is great and batman Lol I mean Taxman has a good theme and a kick ass guitar solo thanks to Paul again but I never got something it's too pretentious for my blood and here comes the sun ☀️ is great but ya know I got the all things must pass album when it came out and I was very disappointed most of the songs over produced and weak but what can expect from a 2 faced hypocrite !

      @@11235but Agree on how the Beatles sessions went towards the end vs. what we saw on the get back clips. Paul and John were far more accommodating of George's stuff than we were led to believe... Too bad we don't have clips from the earlier days though... I'll bet there wasn't such accommodation when George was green at song writing. I suspect George became hyper-sensitive to criticism of any kind going back to those older days. George was whining a helluva lot during the get back sessions though, but I think a significant component of that was they were all getting tired of the "Beatles legend" that they were pressured to maintain forever and ever... Of the four, I think Paul wanted to keep at it the most... In the end, the Beatles legend became bigger than all of them.... I think you're being a little harsh though on George's post Beatles work... Yes, we all know All Things Must Pass was pretty good, yet way over produced by Phil Spector, but Cloud Nine produced by Jeff Lynne was a very good Album and his work with the Traveling Wilburys was great. The single he did for one of the "Lethal Weapon" movies titled "Cheer Down" was also a great song featuring his fantastic slide guitar playing. All four ex-Beatles wound up being worth hundreds of millions of dollars (Paul at over a billion later in life) so they all did pretty damned good for themselves.

      @@11235but Yes, songs that went through the Beatles vetting process were bound to be better than having not gone through that process. It was that process in the very early days with open minded people like George Martin and company that helped the Beatles stand out from all the rest. Brian Epstein deserves a nod here as well because he knew how to make them more appealing to a wider audience... That and all offering their input to make a good song great in those early days all made them stand out. George wasn't writing them, but his guitar work was stellar. By and large, the magic was gone when they split up. I like a lot of their individual stuff, but I also think that every one of their individually released songs could have been measurably better had they all worked together on each one of them. By the time they were split up, they were so beloved by everyone that they'd have really had to have released some real stinkers before the public would come down on them individually. They were a phenomenon that may never be repeated again.
