What a great breakdown of the song. I love how you dive deep into it. I would recommend their First take songs…slump, Mixtape Oh and Scars. These songs will continue to show that they aren’t just rap. They are so talented and can do so much more. They also have sub group and solo projects that are amazing. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how versatile they are. Also, they are fun and I would hope you can react to Fam and see how they do music for themselves too.
This was exactly what a lot of experienced Stays expected. Not the sound itself -- they don't disappoint us by recycling the same song over and over -- but rather the overall mood, the depth of the lyrics, the emotion, and the fact that it's somehow both a heartfelt ballad and an absolute bop. Because it's a Han Song. We knew weeks before it released that Han wrote it, and this...this is What He Does. We know Sunshine and 19 and Another Day and Secret Secret and SLUMP and Alien, know the trilogy of Close and Wish You Back and HaPpY, know that this is a quintessential Han Song. As soon as the album credits dropped and we saw him listed as the sole writer, we started bracing for him to smack us in the heart while making us lowkey vibe. 😁
