    Another genius method for making quilts quickly, easily and beautifully. I wasn't all that keen on the leaf fabric at the beginning but the finished quilt is gorgeous, the colours you used worked so well. You are my hero, thanks to your relaxed attitude to sewing I don't get stressed and just enjoy. 😍👍👏💓 xx

    This is gorgeous! I live in Waterville and I love watching you. You make things simple and give straightforward instructions. Also love your attitude...”mistakes are not the end of the world”!!! Watching how you put this together gives me the confidence to try on my own. Thanks so much Darlene...Keep ‘em coming!

    Loved this! Didn't actually think I would when I first saw the print fabric, but you did such an amazing job of picking out colors and sizes and shapes. It has a modern look with a little mid-century style. Great job!! You taught me to look at prints in a new way, thank you!!

    Thank you for being who you are Darlene! I’ve learned so much from you and I love that you always tell us it’s not a big deal if it’s not perfect. It’s taken a lot of pressure off me as a beginner. I always look through your sewing tutorials before I start a project because you break things down so easily for us and you always stay down to earth! Gorgeous quilt top! I hope to make one soon with Mickey Mouse print. 💕

    I've made quilts for everyone but myself and I bought fabric that I loved and of course they had just about a yard and a half left😒 however, I bought some other fabric that kinda goes well and it's been sitting on my shelf for 4 years LOL. Love this quilt you made and it work perfect for my quilt... When I get around to making it, probably another 4 years LOL. I actually think enough time has past that I don't like it as much as I used to LMAO

    Nice quilt top! I haven't been quilting for very long and have a question. Have you ever made a jelly roll race quilt? Not so much the race part but I'm so curious about them. If I had the fabric to try these out I would. I'm mainly curious about how it would look with wider strips, how it would look with jelly roll strips cut in half AND also how it would look from 2-1/2" strips cut from a layer cake or 10" squares. I have not seen tutorials for anything but the regular jelly roll strips. They look easy and fun to make. Thought it might be an idea if you run out of quilt top ideas....I know I'd love to see variations of the jelly roll quilt. I especially enjoy your quilting videos!

    I LOVE IT....., I live in the UK, but I'm definitely gonna bid on this quilt.
    I popped over to watch you as I've made a "quilt" 2 pieces of fabric with batting in between but that's what my daughter wanted.
    It's for my grandsons cotbed, and it's navy on one side and white on the other (nautical theme with little bats,anchors and ships wheel on.
    It's not what I was going to do,but she was adamant she didn't want it "butchered" into pieces .
    Now my problem is that I have no idea of HOW to quilt a design on to it, as its all one piece, can you offer any advice. I've never used free motion before, and have always been quite relaxed with my walking foot on, as any mistakes were hidden.
    SHE'S made this hard as I know any mistakes will hit you in the face.
    HELP Darlene, even if it's just to say "screw it".
    I'm in awe of your whole approach. It's sooooo refreshing.
    It measures 30wide by 36inches long.

    • @annwarren6597
      @annwarren6597 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made a nautical quilt. I just did straight lines on the free motion, as I found it easier. I did a strip with my grandsons name, and it came out lovely. Just give it a try and place it on the quilt, and see how it looks before you sew. Good luck.

    • @dickworrall123
      @dickworrall123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stitch in the ditch. You don't have to be perfect in doing it. You just follow all the lines. I have done this on a scappy quilt and it looked great on both sides. You can use a different color in your bottom thread to match the back of the quilt.

    • @joannebrady6967
      @joannebrady6967 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would use chalk and a ruler to mark lines and do straight line quilting with my walking foot. That would be very pretty and great for a boy's quilt.
