Even the “for now” in this title is needless and reactionary. Chiles is this team’s QB now and (hopefully) through the 2026 season. Only reason that wouldn’t be the case is if the lunatic fringe of this fan base essentially chases him off to a BETTER school who is willing to pay him more for his talents.
Let's not forget that our QB1 is 19 years old...if you think about it, at that age he could still be in high school. I'm surprised he came to MSU at all...
If we take a step back and think long term...imagine a more seasoned O-line, a better run game, and . . . . . experienced Chiles -> Marsh connection. We'll suffer and struggle this year...but the future is bright.
chiles barely turned 19. i luv chiles, smith & lindgren: they give hope. gimme the frightening roller coaster ride everytime. wayyyy better than '22 & '23 msu fb - or have ppl forgotten? 🙄
I know we need to give the kid time, but would it hurt to put Tommy Touchdown in for a series or two, just to mix it up and put a defense more on their heels? If an opponent’s defensive prep all week is predicated on “stop the run, don’t let Chiles scramble for yards, just make him beat us with the pass.” And then you put Schuster in there who can mess up that game plan, because now they need to move a spy back into coverage, or blitz more, or something different. It just seems like that could be advantageous for a series or two.
I would agree with this if this was a year that we were going to be competing for something (Big ten title, CFP). However we are trying to get better to build towards those goals. Tommy isn't even going to be here next year. So it is more beneficial to make Chiles go through these tough times so he can say, I seen this before, I have been here before, I have done this before. Its more important for the future of the program and I think that is what they are more focused on and they should be.
I think Chase is talking about the throw that was in front of Velling not behind him. Both interceptions. The one behind Velling was the wrong read. The one in front could’ve been a mechanic thing but I think Chase might be confused.
Why are you guys even entertaining this nonsense? People forget what the QB play looked like the last 2 years? Unwatchable. Alteast Chiles can make plays. They 3-1 in a rebuild. Dude stole the Maryland game with a perfectly thrown 77 yarder, and set up game winning FG. Went into BC game as 7 pt dogs without a consistent run game and 3 o 4 top WRs out. Oh, BTW, Carter dropped the go ahead TD,. Lynch-Adams should have been in the game in that situation. Alot of blame to go around. Rediculous that he even needs to be defended. Like we deserve better at MSU. Is this gonna be like having to defend Goff after every loss?! Chiles decision making has improved. Really good accuracy/ placement on most of his completions. Just WAY off on his misses. Probly has to do with footwork or something. Love the show BTW.
with the portal, how can a coach rely on building a team. Ohio State, its good Chiles looks bad, because MSU is expected to lose. Never Tommy Schuster! MSU must think winning is top - not MSU is in a building stage. You talk that MSU has already lost to Ohio State. If Chiles plays bad, I would see what Schuster can do - that may help win a game.
People need to chill, gotta give the kids time. If he throws 3 int next year season opener you’ll see Smith on the sideline wiping sweat off his brow.

Hopefully we do not get blowout that bad on Saturday night 😲
amazing how quickly some sparty fans forgot that this is a rebuild.
Best hat you own, Matt!

I'm good with Aidan for now. it's a rollercoaster ride, but if he improves this year, he'll be good to have for the next couple of years.
That play you guys are talking about with the 2 BC guys blowing each other up. Go look at the play design. The corner route was a TD

And lets not forget, Chiles is a drop pass at the goaline of a 9 minute drive, away from this all being something no one would even be talking about.
How about talking about the OL and WR? Several top players are out.

Everybody relax and being a HAPPY LOSER is truly refreshing lower your expectations ! LISTEN TO THE GREAT CHASE GLASSER 😆😆
As a neutral fan in regards to MSU, I only see one more win on the schedule. For Chase to think you guys get to 6 wins is hard for me to understand.
We believe because we would never have believed we could start out the season 3-0!
