I always appreciate the wisdom and business knowledge of Mr.Stephen, an International Investment Banker. His experience in business and ideas in politics goes beyond Philippines but worldwide.
I really like how Cuunjieng handled that question about "how staggering the Davao 2016 to 2022 CIF". He answered it politically blind to the "disappoinmentn (perhaps)" of the host. His wit, intelligence and maturity surpasses the biases of his host network. Comparing Davao's CIF to "bigger" cities is out of proportion. Davao has insurgency in its outskirts while those bigger cities has virtually none. By the end of SD term as mayor, Davao became insurgent free, crime rate drastically reduced and compliance to drug eradication is top notch. I guess these big cities need to ask more funds to achieve that.
Love to listen to Mr. Stephen C. I learn a lot. And hope the government listen to this not just to those in circles of the government. Hope he offer a seat. 🙏🇵🇭👼❤️
Always looking forward to sir Cuunjieng gracing us every month. His guestings really do feel short, ano? Only because I'm sure we could listen to him go on all day haha

Though Confidential Funds and the like are NOTHING NEW, we can at least see that there were a FEW officials who did not have these type of funds and who have always been transparent. Unfortunately, the VOTERS do not want these type of officials, but prefers those who keep a lot of secret funds.
Thank you Sir Stevie for your thoughts. I don't care that much about re-balancing of the PSE. Investors must check if the companies have good fundamentals or not.
I would watch every episode that has Stevie on it. His way of thinking is efficient but always considers the future. He really fits independent director roles.
Very intelligent answer- CIF is like Pork Barrel. Now Speaker Romualdez, as legislator, kindly explain the need for pork barrel fund in your responsibilities. If not, please scrap it and be like the VP.
Much awaited lecture of Prof. Stevie Cuunjieng. Confidential and intel funds are audited by the COA Chair with the interference of the President - so the COA Chair and the President pocket a huge share of the funds.

So is there a thin line between confidential funds and pork barrel? Confi funds of an agency can be disclosed for public information because there's no law saying otherwise. I wonder when why it is categorized as confidential as the funds have to be audited and disclosed fully, even for the public to know.
I do think Davao needs more confidential funds and intelligence funds as they are always under threat of Terrorism, Davao has security protocols that when buses from other city like Kidapawan,Tagum or Gensan coming in all passengers must abide to mandatory x-ray of baggage and other security checks. 20-25 yrs ago Davao was like a warzone they did increase economic activity after they beef up their security spending.
Many thanks. I try to be issue and analysis driven and prepare prior to the show by reading up out of respect for my viewers. Rather than just be partisan, personality driven and speak from top of my head without knowing what I am opining on.

Hoping to see your Team emerge with Success! We don't want Philippines to get left out with the upcoming dawn of quantum financial system. Kudos !
Ha, ha, Stevie, I didn't know you are a fan of Private Equity. So, do I gather that “buying to sell” can generate a much higher return on investment than the public company practice of “buying to keep?"
look at the record of the leading PE firms and at least for the last 20 years the answer for them is yes. Low interest rates and high liquidity helped a lot to make the case.

If private investment it is prone to corruption di ba?
why public cannot be corrupt either? Either can be or not be straight forward or corrupt, well thought out or haphazard
