  • Back in 1995 I interviewed Mike in his home studio for his online mailing list. In response to a question about how he played the opening riff to Amarok, he proceeded to grab a guitar and demonstrate.
I can clearly remember being surprised to see that the left-hand fingering was extremely simple, often using just two fingers. All the work was done by the right hand.

Tom, why has Mike been so silent for the past 3 years? Also, is he going to do Amarok in 5.1 surround?

Thanks for sharing this plainly indescribably amazing bit of musical history. Out of the cacaphony of tuning the guitar suddenly arises sheer bliss!

😂 I also ripped mine to the fire, then my keyboard too. Oh, actually, the bongoes, the tambourine a flute and two whistles were all in the same session. (it was a cold night, i should say).
