If there's one thing I give props to the team for Garou about is how Dong was made to not feel like he's Kim, letting some of his style being similar to Kim, while he has his own style and flair, letting Jae be closer to their dad in terms of moves and style, while Dong has a neat mix of his own style with some of the basics of the Kim style of Taekwondo.
I can imagine him becoming some kind of monster if he ever fights without his carefree attitude and more with anger in him. Another thing, in one of the fatal fury games there's a Kim ending when we can see kid Dong Hwan sitting on Chang's shoulder. I bet part of his carefree attitude comes from Chang and Choi. It would be interesting to see both sons of Kim joining King of fighters' roster and see how they interact with Chang and Choi.

Good observation, and although the two reused some sprites, they didn't make two clone characters that just change only the hair
Dong is Ryu (his electricity) but have mannerisms of Ken, while Jae have the opposite
