Believe me, she does this for entirely selfish reasons, doing something that makes you happy doesn't mean that another has to suffer for it. This is a mutually beneficial relationship, and if she didn't like to take care of these animals, she wouldn't do it. Fortunately for the animal, she does.

@@r.cjones1515 You don't understand me. What I was trying to explain is that selfishness can be beneficial. I did dog rescue for 10 years, because I adored them. They were advantaged by it, but so was I. I really enjoyed helping them. This world is a better place when people do what they desire to do, and restrict that level of desire that advantages others.
If I find a stray dog, I will protect it to this day - but I would not do that for a cat. I don't hate cats, however I feel an obligation to help dogs. If your dog was found by me alone, I'd first search or tags, next I would check for an RFID tag and I would return the dog to you. Failing that, I would rehome it.

I think I'd carry him around in a breast pouch most of the day and at night I'd keep him close in his bed with a heart beat maker.
There has to be some device that emits low vibrations in the frequency of a relaxed heart beat, right?
Just for the night so I don't accidentally crush him (if he would sleep in my bed).
I think a cat or a dog would help for the moment. Cats are known to sometimes care for and cuddle with babies, human and animal, so it could be an option.
I hope the little guy grows up big and strong!

I had two beautiful baby girl joeys, pepper and willow.
We had those girls since willow was 900 grams and pepper was 1.3 kilos.
Unfortunately pepper was taken by a fox at 10 kilos and willow hit a fence 1 week later, broke her back and had to be put down at 9 kilos.
this was a very sad time, but we still had 10 kilo Joe, their brother. We still have Joe today and he has a brother as well, Charlie. Both are 15-16 kilos and nearing the stage to leave home. It’s almost Joey season so we will get more babies soon ❤️❤️ R.I.P Pepper roo and willow ❤️❤️

I am a lay person when it comes to the topic of caring for abandoned marsupials. If the baby wallaby needs to hear the mum's beating heart couldn't they use a recording of a ticking clock to mimic the sound of mum's beating heart??... It is what we used to calm down the several puppies we have fostered over the years... IT works every time with foster puppies...

They are related at the family level and some are even related at the genus level. So at their most distant relation it would be like orangutans and humans and at their closest relation, it would be like Homo erectus and Anatomically Modern Humans.
