Yeah not an easy thing to do.
I joined in 81 and discharged 93....a couple I joined with are still in....I admire and salute them for the fortitude to spend ones entire life in service.....this guy has has given a huge chunk of his life in service.....salute

So so blessed!! As a mother I've been there to. My son got thru bootcamp, then 9/11 happened and was sent to Iraq. So I understand how his mom feels when he came home. God is good all the time!🙏

Military homecomings always makes me feel happy because my best friend in kindergarten his dad wasn’t going make it home for his birthday. I remember that his dad had told his mom that he was going plan to surprise him for his birthday. On the day of the party I remember his dad was in his army uniform and my friend ran into his arms.

Yes, military is hard for the family. I too spent 2 years stationed in Japan and only saw the family after rotation. That was along time ago.

I’m a Brit so I might have got some of this wrong but:-
He joined the navy to become a seaman, he then rose through the non commissioned ranks before getting a commission. He married a Japanese lady and has a wonderful family of his own and won’t except a long term deployment unless his family can go with. All the while he’s willing to put his life on the line for his country. He also happens to have a stunning family in America, though that was out of his control. Everything about him has to be applauded, a true man and someone to be very proud of.
She is from Puerto Rico, just look at her color and characteristics, even the kids looks so Puerto Rican,
