    I put in a full-wave rectifier with an appropriate dropping resistor to get the 138V, and disconnected C7-C. Now it's very quite!

    I never did care for how they had the clip around the glass of the magic eye tube. I moved that back on the aluminum bracket so it would grip the tube's base instead. That was how Eico had theirs in some instruments.

    Open the can of control cleaner and pour it into an eyedropper bottle. Still can use it for easy to get to stuff

    As cheap as caps are, why not just replace all paper caps on site? No Boom today, there's always a Boom tomorrow.

    That level control needs cleaning. I think I would go ahead and replace the filter caps and also check the tubes other than the eye tube.
