      I second that. I just seen a person on a movie documentary on Netflix, and they were interviewing the writer, and he mentioned these radio shows that used to blow me away as a kid listening to the radio. The other two I was hoping they had here, were Inner Sanctum and CBS Mystery Hour.

    5:07 "You can't make me die again!"
    My most favorite line in this entire episode...reminds me of having nightmares about high school (Graduated in 2007) and yelling "You can't make me go again!" in my dream

    Great. Very faithful to original script. In some cases, closer than some books on tape. Excellent work!

    Ernie Hudson’s performance here is Tony worthy! I wish there were an award for audio play. And thanks for posting as well. Splendid production all around!!

    I just want to say this; it’s ok to have the three people in the room with you; you’re perfectly ok for future reference if rerefererence.

    Dennis Weaver played the part in the series. He did an excellent job! When u see his performance it is absolutely electrifying. Luv it!!

      Peter Coyote played him in the 1980's remake.

    • @The_Mighty_Fiction
      @The_Mighty_Fiction 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gemini2012100 I liked the different performances. Weaver played it like a cornered animal, manic, hysterical, a desperate man at his breaking point rattling the bars of his cage trying to make someone, _anyone_ listen. Coyote played it like a man already broken, too beat down and exhausted to even rattle the bars because he already knows no-one will listen, like he was the same man after a _loooong_ time trapped in this dream.

    • @gemini2012100

      @@The_Mighty_Fiction It's been a while since I've seen the Peter Coyote version, but I think you're right.

    "Shadow Play" is episode 62 of the American television anthology series The Twilight Zone. It originally aired on May 5, 1961 on CBS.
    "Shadow Play" remains an intriguing and suspenseful episode that perfectly embodies the otherworldly nature of the Twilight Zone in a way that few other episodes were able to match. It showcases Charles Beaumont's excellent writing and obsessions with dreams, nightmares, and unreality which perfectly suited the format of the show.
    "We know that a dream can be real but who ever thought that reality can be a dream? We exist, of course, but how, in what way? As we believe, as flesh and blood human beings, or are we simply part of someone's feverish, complicated nightmare? Think about it, and then ask yourself, do you live here, in this country, in this world, or do you live instead in the Twilight Zone?" "Shadow Play" One of the very best episodes of The Twilight Zone.

    Ladies and genital men. As you open your mind to the image of suspicious intentions, you will find yourself locked in a small padded room in a box with a cat, that's possibly live and...... possibly dead. You have reached the Not so well lit part of a bad script hammed with the internal monologue voice of an early black and whit version of Bill Shatner.
