An excellent video, really entertaining, I really enjoyed watching it. I love entertaining videos that are still well done 😀👍 Of course I'll leave a like there..
I got this for my nephews last month. They're 4/5, and they just wanted to look at the cool art work. They already mixed it up with my box of old cards. They want to learn how to play now and I've learned how to play this game so I can teach them. XD XD
I have this and the previous year one and I think they are great EXCEPT for two things. I think they should have given you 4 decks. 2 starters (pikachu and cinderace) and 2 advanced (eevee and w/e else) so that when both players are ready to try a real game it's even because as it stands, the Eevee deck is stronger than both the other decks. the other issue is they should teach new players about stadium and tool cards which are important in the main game. hopefully the Scarlet and Violet version might bring that to the next Academy
I absolutely agree regarding teaching new players the importance of stadiums and tools. On the decks, however, I do think that they should make sure that none of them outpower each other, but sometimes there is a clear winner. Haha. But if they would make sure of that, I think the standard 3 is okay as a nice starter game. If player really want to look into upgrading there are some great choices in battle decks that they keep coming out with that are ready to play competitive decks. Which I think are really cool! Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! 🤠🤙
I have both boxes, to be honest the one with mew 2, charizard, and dispite the picture on the box rhichu decks are the better out if them, oh and the deck in this box are gx decks meaning the gx Pokemon have a powerful move that can be used once during a game, obviously they have other moves to, it makes for some interesting strategy plays
Question, my son and i just got this box and we want to buy more cards to build our own decks that are compatible with this academy box set. What booster packs or ellite battle boxes should we buy? Sword and shield or scarlet and violet stuff? We may get into competition so we want viable stuff. Thanks in advance
That is awesome to hear! If you are looking to get booster packs or etbs Scarlet and Violet Base set reprinted alot of "staple" cards for decks. Paldea Evolved also has some new cards in as well that are great for decks! Also at a point when you are starting to get more into the competitive side, you may want to buy singles (meaning specific cards that you need) directly from tcg player or any other trusted online store. Hope that helps! Let me know of you have anymore questions! 🤠🤙
@@GymLeaderJosh_ Ahhh okay. That does help. I was wondering though. This academy set has these V cards. Like pikachu V and Eevee V. If we buy scarlet and violet, do they also have B cards and supporter cards that are viable to V builds? I hope that makes sense. We just wanna buy more packs and boxes that work well with the academy box we have. Just wondering if we should buy sword and shield or the scarlet violet series.. or something else?
@@clautzenheiser Scarlet and Violet Cards will still be perfect for the build and battle box! They'll still work well with V builds so you don't have to worry about that. Still wouldn't hurt get anything as far back as Astral Radiance as well. There are plenty of good sets, you just have to know exactly what you're looking for if you want to pull specific cards. But like I said, Scarlet and violet did reprint alot of great cards that extremely useful for any deck! Hope I am helping lol
@@GymLeaderJosh_ I appreciate all the info. Great help. I just have been on youtube looking stuff up and it seemed like scarlet and violet packs and boxes did not contain V cards. And i know in this battle academy it seemed like the V cards were prominent. Do you know if scarlet and violet packs/boxes contain v card pokemon and v card support cards alike?
Thanks for the video! I just started getting into Pokemon and I got myself a trainers toolkit and an elite box. I have a good bit of Pokemon and decided to get this to learn how to play. This video was very entertaining and helped very much! I'll leave my thanks with a subscription and like of course.
@@zmek_1187 The trainer toolkit is an awesome product to get more cards that you will need for competitive play, but I would wait a little longer as the trainer Toolkit 2022 version will be coming out this year!
You can trade them, BUT if you want to learn to play the game, I would recommend just keeping the decks intact and just trade cards you get from other products. Hope this helps! 🤠
Just picked this box up so that me and the wife can learn. None of us ever played before. Now we just need to figure out what kind of boosters to buy, all of youtube is about "investing". Nothing about what boosters that is the best for playing ☹
My advice for you booster wise is to get basically any of the last 4-5 sets, such as Evolving Skies, Brilliant Stars, Astral Radiance, and even the new Pokemon Go set! Hope this helps! :)

It’s how we got started back into it. Now we’ve dove off the deep end.
It's a fantastic way to learn!

Ps sorry about spelling Pokémon names incorrectly

That is awesome! I am so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words!
I recently got the game... but i play on both players ahaha since i have no one to play with
kinda upset about the little number on the V cards,ik it helps but that ruins the value of the V cards
I feel ya, but like you said, it helps one to learn the game. But the V cards aren't really valuable to begin with. Have you been learning to play?
I play lots of competitive Pokémon, but I will maybe buy this to teach others.
It's an awesome way to show others how to play!
Im wanting to get into comp and pokemon im thinking to get this or trainer toolkit
@@zmek_1187 you should get a league battle deck and a trainers toolkit, the battle academy isn't competitive.
