Rangers fan here the old parkhead was a great stadium loved going to it as a kid sat in the stand with my Da.Atmosphere second to none back then 22k tickets we got for parkhead it was the largest away support in the Uk.Any celtic fan that never saw it packed out missed out big time. stampede in janefield st when the mounted police charged the celtic fans i saw it because we were in the cemetery looking over the wall .
Celtic fan, Yes it was a colossal stadium, Ibrox and Hampden were even bigger, really amazing considering the size of Glasgow, best ever game was the 4-2 game, ten men won the league, some crowd that night, lots of great memories as im sure you have.

As the game went one way then the other.Johny Doyle getting sent off yeah it was quite a night all we needed was a win and the league was ours.Guys sitting beside us from Belfast who my old man was in the pub with and walked down to the ground with were sitting greeting with rage watching the celtic fans a few rows along where the segregation was were blessing themselves going potty when murdo mclouds howitzer hit the net near the end.Only one victory I saw at parkhead for Rangers was Alex miller's last minute winner a great goal last kick of the ball wee bud Johnston getting pelters taking the throw in at the jungle with davie provan right in front of him attempting to stop his long throw in.Jonn greig had took over as jock Wallace fucked off to leicester city. We had some run in the european cup beating juventus ( basically the 78 world cup team Dino Zoff in goal)then beating Psv Eindhoven (Dutch world Cup runners up in 78).Yet that greig team were regarded us one of the worst Rangers teams ever fc koln knocked us out by a single goal or it was away goals.I went to Germany 15 pound it cost that's including the ticket lol.This is when Celtic and Rangers could beat the best as Celtic were unlucky not to go through against Real Madrid you beat them two nil at parkhead but lost the second leg in Madrid.Do you remember what those bastard Madrid fans did to about half a dozen Celtic fans with knives.Then Aberdeen and Dundee utd made Rangers the fourth force in Scotland the new firm you obviously know they were called but credit where its due.They were good domestically but superb in europe.Against Roma in the European cup semi final winning two nil in Dundee then Romas shocking tactics in return italy rumours the tallys paid the ref to give utd nothing.Disgrace at the end the conduct of the roma players giving wee Jim and wattie the middle finger the usual thuggish crap we expect from those dicks on the terrace but not players.Probably went all out to win as the final was in there ground against Liverpool.Brilliant Bruce Grobbllar after extra time in the penalty kicks Bruce making like he was gonna faint legs like jelly the Italian penalty taker not Bruce and it worked he missed and Liverpool won it ,karma is a bitch the roma players were in tears 😂.Wattie and Jim had some great displays in the early 80s beating Barcelona they had Lineker and venables plus translator Jose mourinho but utd ripped them apart in the nou camp.Then a eufa cup final for utd they were a good team with a great management team.Aberdeen were the same outstanding in Scotland unreal in europe beating teams like hamburg who were very good in the 80 I'm sure Karl heinz rummenigge played for them.Winning the cup winners cup beating Real Madrid in the final fergie was a great manager jock stein was legendary in Scotland and in europe but fergie did it in Scotland, England and europe consistently its close between them who was the best ,I go for fergie as he did it in England and in europe a good few times but jock will always be the first to win big ears.

I watched a game there between Celtic and Man City that went 3 to 3. one of the most beautiful stadiums I've ever visited, in addition to having an incredible history and fans, it's without a doubt one of the biggest clubs in history. Missing Brazil.
