Man. What a day in rainy home sweet home Washington. I bought a couple books and been watching TH-cam quite a bit tryin to get enough knowledge to ID edible mushrooms with confidence
Nice video! I laughed when you popped the cap off the Matsutake...only because that's happened to me many times! It's been my experience that White Chanterelles sometimes do grow in dense patches.
I am glad you know your mushrooms. I am new to mushroom hunting. I generally stay away from white mushrooms. If one mistakes an Amanita phalloidis for Matsutake, they are dead in 7 days.
I live in New England. It cool and wet but not quite as wet as the Pacific North West. We have a large variety of amanitas (very poisonous) and many boletus (edible) In amongst the pine needles is clavaria, an (edible) coral mushroom with a peppery taste. Those 2 groups are dominant with about 15% other species
Hey there! Would you say 32 degrees/ freezing temp is when matsutakes start to fade off ? I find a lot of chanterelles in the Olympic peninsula but very curious in the matsutake season
Thanks bro! Yah and also lots of commercial pickers out there living in the woods too. I drove by some of their camps too, talked to a Cambodian family from Olympia, they are doing really well, lol
Seems like everyone is out at the lower elevations. We’ll be out there again probably next week and see how we do before the first snow flakes hit. Stay safe and be well bro.
You make me feel like I am in good hands and that i made a good decision being with you! You are such a wonderful provider and protector. You would never use pronouns or vote for Biden. I love traveling with you and witnessing how competent and knowlegable and capable and normal you are!!!! I am the luckiest woman in the world when i am with someone like you!!!
Thank you for sharing. I love walking in Ginford Pinchot.
Thanks for sharing... I love that you mentioned sasquatch or bigfoot... they're all over in Washington State... I've personally seen 3 in 65 years.

Awesome finds and thanks for the info
Omg, I missed picking and eating matsutake mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest. There is no place like Oregon and Washington.
Your ability to harvest in the wild is impressive. Did I miss something I did not see your truck. Thank you for sharing. Good job.
Thank you! I took my Forester that day, to save $$ on gas lol.
Love your videos, keep them coming.
Thank you for the support!

I love the Pacific... free diving, mask, fins, snorkle and a weight belt... no tanks
Thanks to the liquid sunshine, makes the mushrooms thrive😛
