His voice isn't that deep. He can hit the bass, but it's not actually that surprising he can hit the high notes with a falsetto. That's kinda the definition of a falsetto.
Hyunjin's producing skills are getting better and better. He not only wrote the lyrics. He produced the song, means he had an idea for the song, composed the top line and wrote the lyrics and it took him a month to create this masterpiece. Then he gave it to the album as the unit song and Lee Know and Felix added some lines and melody, then Chan and Versachoi arranged everything. There was an article about it. Adding Lee Know and Felix vocals and we got another masterpiece after Red Lights. I can't wait for more songs from Hyunjin, especially "Beautiful" and "Spring", he ads such a different and beautiful touch to SKZ albums 🥰

Lee Know killed it on this song - he had some gorgeous runs in here too. I feel like he doesn't get as much appreciation as a vocalist as he should. It's hard because there are so many outstanding performers in Stray Kids, sometimes their talents can get taken for granted.

Hyunjin deserves so much recognition for his music composing. Chan said hyunjin made this whole song with danceracha helping write it and he only tweaked it a little. Hyune has so much potential
UPDATE: my bad yall I remembered it wrong. Chan said during chans room that he and versachoi composed the track and hyunjin wrote the demo with the help of danceracha :) sorry for the misinfo and shoutout to the ppl that corrected me I wouldnt want to discredit anyone

when did chan say that? hj sent chan the demo WITH the track chan made. give credits where its due pls. even with the composing chan is a co-composer. arrangement was done by chan and versachoi.
Lee Know slayed this song fr, he sounded way too good i was in awe ! It was mostly written and composed by Hyunjin and then Lee know and Felix added their parts. I just love danceracha sm 🥰
Lee Know is my favorite vocal to listen to in SKZ. His tone and range are fucking incredible. I love him so much. Hyunjin biased wrecked me in Oddinary era and completely stole the show for me when I saw them live. He is on ANOTHER level when it comes to performance. He oozes passion and charisma. Taste is absolutely my favorite track on Maxident.
Hyunjin deserves more recognition from his own fandom. He made the greatest contribution to writing the song, this is his brainchild, and he is its producer, which means he also distributed the parts, gave all the best to others. And while his own parts are great too, he showed range and versatility, but people don't do it justice, it's a sad to see that. Anyway, thanks to Chan for helping with the music and Minho's and Felix's contribution. And thanks for your reaction

@@rainclover59no it wasn’t… he literally says in an interview he wrote it himself and Felix confirmed that on one of his lives, so did Chan. They added and tweaked things after Hyunjin had made the original song.

I was wondering if u guys knew about who produced TASTE. Bc Hyunjin is actually the one who made and produced Taste! He wrote lyrics himself while had Red light ( most sexy artistic famous skz song by bangchan & hyunjin), he made demo and lyrics then gave to chan! Bangchan said demo was already good but those instrumental that u heard was added by chan doe performance and choreo! Then leeknow and felix added their own lyrics parts . But overall we all should appreciate hyunjin as producer for TASTE. he made little star,red light, Lovestay, ice.cream and taste. Most of them are sexy r&b genre.
he didnt make it alone. he is a co-composer. chan made the track and sent it to hj where hj sang the lyrics he wrote. now he send the demo back to chan AND then chan completed the track and arranged with versachoi. lk and felix helped a little with the writing but the main credits should chan and hj and versachoi

Chan himself said Hyunjin came with ready demo and he only added few things and fixed the tracked , arranged was by VERSACHOI mainly, Hyunjin produced Taste and he said CLEARLY : because i made the song, go watch Intro Maxident again
It was recorded in 2h that's contribution of other 2 Lino and Lix! Hyunjin worked for whole month before presenting it to danceracha.

This song definitely leaves me breathless - I find myself holding my breath without even thinking. Lee Know is a standout for sure in this one, his vocal tone drives me insaaane.

NO ONE HAS SAID Chan hasn’t helped and it was “just hyunjin.” Give credit where credit is due just like you said. He wrote amazing lyrics for this song and the others added more to those amazing lyrics, making an amazing song! Chan and versachoi helped make the song track and it fit perfectly. Hyunjin himself said in an interview “Taste has a good feeling to me because I wrote it.” Felix said “hyunjin wrote the lyrics” so saying that hyunjin made it by himself with no help is indeed wrong, but saying Chan made it with a small portion of hyunjin is also wrong. I’m no longer responding to someone who cannot understand that no one has not credited Chan for the work he has done for the group.

Lee know deserves more recognition, his voice is beautiful and he improved a lot since their debut. I feel really happy each times to hear some compliments for him on this song as he's my bias. Taste is actually my fav song of the album. Would also really recommend the title track Case 143. It sounds so different from everything they did and imo the music production for this one is insane. Can't wait for the next reactions ❤

In all seriousness though, thank you guys for the great reactions! I love getting your perspectives on their songs. I would definitely suggest NOT waiting another half a year to get through it hahah all their songs are great and since you are starting with a unit song, I recommend listening to the unit songs first: 3racha (3racha) and Can’t Stop (vocalracha)

This is my very favorite song from Maxident, by a long shot. It is definitely among my top 5 favorite Skz songs. For the rest of the album, I'd say just go in order, they are mostly not so heart-stopping as this one, with a much lighter feel. My second favorite is 3Racha, with Bang Chan doing some of the best rap verses I've heard from him. I'll be interested to see if you can help me change my opinion on the vocalracha unit song Can't Stop, which is definitely my least favorite song on the album. It is also the only one not produced by 3Racha, it was produced by Hong Jisang, who also produces for Day 6.
I'd like to request that you try to fit in a look at their Christmas Evel album, while the season is still here--one twisted holiday song, one sweet LoveStay holiday song, one winter break-up song and the English version of Domino, which is musically not much different than the original Korean version.
Listening to Lee Know on Taste, I can't help thinking of how he and Felix were cut from the group during the pre-debut survival show and could have been permanently eliminated. We would never have gotten this song.....The idea was that weak members would drag the group down, so they should be eliminated for the good of the group. Instead what we've seen is that the synergy of the group keeps pulling each member up to higher and higher standards.
I think Taste is brilliantly composed cause even the lyrics fit so well with the overall theme of the Maxident album. To me, the entire Maxident album is like a continuation from the Noeasy album. If the sound monster from Noeasy was a reference to haters, the heart monster from Maxident is a reference to toxic fans or stalkers/sasaengs. Taste as a song goes so well with this theme of idol obsession by fans as love becomes the accident which creates the monster i.e obsession. The lyrics clearly indicate this with Lee Know's part as "don't make me bad, I'm addicted to you."

I love what you said about stray kids speaking through their instrumental breaks!! Yes!!!! Sometimes, emotion and intention are communicated noverbally and just through the way the music makes you feel instinctually. If listening to classical music can invoke emotion, so can this type of beat.
So many people want to write off Stray kids for being so heavily invested in the instrumental aspect, but conveying meaning through words is expected for pop artists, stray kids take it to the next level by using their music just as much as their lyrics.

skz is good at holy trinities, 3racha, dance racha, and steamy songs (drive, red lights, taste)
I don’t know if u know anything about Classical Music (I have a degree in vocal performance-classically trained)…. But this son is the male version of Franz Schubert’s “Gretchen am Spinnrade”. I immediately thought of it after listening! The build up is the same, with the drop and u could even argue the context is almost the same.
The fact the used such holy instrumentals for this and structure blows my mind! (I think that’s a Hammond organ rt)… they have the spiny thing that makes the little bell sounds like they use on organs …, the descant of almost angelic vocals with the build then boom sexy time!!! It blows my mind every time I listen to it!!!!

I think that’s why I love stray kids. I’m very much a music person over a lyrics person. The way songs make me feel is infinitely more impactful to me than the lyrics. (Which is probably why it’s easy for me to listen to music in languages I don’t understand and enjoy it)
