Vanilla and 2x are goated in normal wipes. But any higher than that makes gear feel useless and unimportant. In a 5x you get literally 4 days of wipe on vanilla in like 2 hours. Its too fast progression for normal wipes.
But these events are supposed to be fast. 5x in this type of event is perfectly balanced. It's balanced around the situation.
Event videos at 5x are more fun to play, and it might feel less fun to watch since you associate the gameplay with a normal wipe. You should try play a event like this. You would know.

Honestly i dont feel like this type of random stuff happening looks scripted at all. I played on some vanilla and the most random shit happens. I find a just decayed base with aks. I get killed with a minigun.
Respawn, find a 1/250 hp door. Break it. Find a full box of tommys and sars. 6k gp and 8k scrap. Tm8 logs in. Kills a ak kit, i go help him. We get our starter molo raided 3 times. Defend the online. During the time the juiced 1hp doors gets mlrs'd i try pull the last of the loot away. Tm8 puts a random ass code. When im running back with loot, internet crashes. Have to wait. Get in. Collective realize we are in the most scuffed server ever. Leave for the day. Checked when i woke up. We were raided.
Rust is so goofy sometimes. Anything can happen at any time.
